Europcar Carlisle were extremely helpful, we broke down in our car whilst on holiday, getting the car back to our accommodation to collect our luggage would have been a logistical impossibility due to the location we were staying in, so the easiest solution was to hire a car and have ours recovered and taken Directly home. Being on holiday we didn’t have documents of ID except a driving licence so we weren’t even sure we would be able to hire, so we contacted Europcar Carlisle at 8am David was superb and within 15 minutes had us approved to hire. We got the 9 o clock train from Ribblesdale to Carlisle and by 11:30 We were on our way, 2 days hire and we could return the car to our Lincoln branch.

Thank you David and the rest of the team in Carlisle for an easy, pleasant, friendly and professional service. I would not hesitate to use Europcar in the future or recommend them.

I received an email inviting me to comment on my rental experience which I did. At the end it invited me to agree to those comments being made public here which I did. But then it gave me a blank page and seems to expect me to type it out all over again. I don't think so! However, customers should rent only from companies that provide a guide to operating the key features of the car provided. On recent Europcar rentals I never did work out how to operate: e.g. cruise control, radio volume, windscreen de-mist.

Car was dropped off promptly but I would haven't of minded waiting an extra hour for it to be cleaned. For a Car less than a year old the carpets were sticky, bits from previous occupiers remained. The plastic interior felt dirty and grimey. I cleaned to my standard but still ferls yuk like it needs valet. Please up your standards. Not everybody likes a dirty car.

When my Hyundai IONIQ 6 had a ICCU system failure. I took it to Hyundai garage it was in for 5.5 days. So mobility phone me to get a courtesy car from Europcar Carlisle. So when I got the hired car I noticed a dent on the back left bumper when I cleaned the car because it was filthy when it arrived. So I had a look a the paper work it had a dent on the front bumper but when I looked at the front bumper there was no dent on the front bumper just the back bumper. So I thought that they got mixed up between the two. And now they are trying to blame me for the dent in the back bumper I told them I didn’t even drive the car because it was unsuitable for me. I just used it to pick up my car when it was fixed. I went to the police station and told them everything the agreed with me that they got mixed up. But unfortunately they can’t help because they’re been no criminal crime committed. This has put me off from getting another courtesy car ever this is making me ill and can’t even sleep through this I’m not paying for anything I didn’t even do it’s all wrong all this it’s no right. I’ve also seen reviews on europcar uk trustpilot they have tried to scam other people. Something needs to be done about this company they are not to be trusted do not go to europcar ever don’t do it. I’m just waiting for appointment to see a solicitor.
