Lovely reserve and always lots of birdlife to see, whether in the woodland or on the mudflats, plenty of bird-hides also dotted around. Just be warned, we visited today on a Monday and found the visitor centre itself is closed Monday and Tuesdays which I never realised even though I have been coming here for years, but the toilet facilities remain open as does the reserve itself. Lots of good walks around the reserve. Well worth a visit and plenty of parking.

Lovely place to visit 😊 easy access to all areas, steps in steep places makes it easier. Lots of bird activity, insect activity and generally a lovely walk round. Great little visitor centre, toilets and shop. Car park is big enough but road into the centre is quite narrow so beware of oncoming traffic to pass carefully.

A hidden gem and well worth a visit. The nature reserve is well signposted and parking is right next to the visitor centre. There is a well stocked shop and food and hot drinks available.
The pathways are well maintained as are the hides and some of the views are stunning. Information boards are well located and give an insight into the history of the Wick and what wildlife can be seen.
Well worth a visit.

Fantastic for walking and watching nature. Essex wildlife trust fingeringhoe wick is the ewt head quarters and is a fantastic nature reserve. With some nice bird hides to sit in and enjoy the many bird species. There are many other different species including adders and a abundance of butterfly and dragonfly to see in the summer months. There was even a couple of turtle dove when I visited a couple of weeks ago. The staff are very nice and the cafe has some great food . Well worth a visit
