I can't fault the service I have always had from Enterprise - vans are always clean and in good order and the staff are always very helpful. But I take issue with is Enterprise's policy of charging a flat £2000 in the event a windscreen gets chipped on the drivers side and has to be replaced. Replacing a van windscreen does not cost £2000. The line I was given was that it can take a few days to get a windscreen replaced and that is lost hire days. It would take more than a few lost hire days to rack up losses of £2,000 even accounting for the cost or replacing a windscreen. So that's not the reason. My guess that it is to strong-arm customers into paying the excess protection fee they offer - and if you don't and something happens then all the more for Enterprise - they make a small windfall at your misfortune. Sorry Enterprise, you might offer a decent service, but little things like that give the brand/company away - you'll offer the service you need to to get our custom but then if you get the opportunity to take money out of our back pocket you will do - and £2000 is enough to do serious damage to a households budget. This review isn't prompted by being charged for a chipped windscreen. But on principle the policy is unacceptable and on that basis, I will be willing to go out of my way to get vans from elsewhere.

I have rented cars from Enterprise all over the world and on occasions from the Newark site. Over the last two years I had issues with this site e.g. turned up after booking being confirmed and then no car etc.
On this occasion I was given a Diesel VW golf, all on time and communications was good. The guy who dropped the car off told me that ‘service light is on but has been serviced and add blue is topped up’.
79 miles into my journey the car shutdown and was unable to restart. AA called and dropped me and the car off in Huntington, then I made my way to Cambridge to collect the only other hire car available to me from Enterprise.
I did make it to my destination later that evening but missed two of my important clients meetings due to this.
Other issues was that I was given an electric car, this is fine but around the London area I could not find a working car charging point, this was a real issue to my work schedule.
I called many time to see if they could get me into another car however, this never happened and I feel that I would not use Enterprise again.

Will never use again. Just had £514 taken out of my account for damage that I didn't do. I have tried to explain this, but they have still taken the money. I have been given no proof of the damage, as there isn't any. If you don't want to get ripped off, please don't use.

After a last minute emergency we needed a large vehicle in a hurry to accommodate 2 adults, 2 toddlers, an elderly gentleman and an adult with learning difficulties. Everyone at the Newark depot on Thursday 20th June could not do enough to make sure we got on our way to Cornwall. It was touch and go but Ben went above and beyond with the rest of the team to make sure we were sorted out in time. Would recommend the team here.

Other enterprise depots should be trained at Newark depot because service was excellent, polite, professional, we picked up a Ford 9 seater. It was immaculate, off we go super drive fuel economy good returned a week later, all good van inspected deposit returned. Can't rate Newark depot highly enough. Thank you once again. Oh and we could take our 2 dogs as well.

Provided us with a replacement car whilst my wife's mini went in after a shunt. Very impressed with the service of the staff at Newark (in stark contrast to the unhelpful shambles at Lincoln), couldn't do enough to help and put themselves out for us. Really appreciated them going the extra mile. Excellent car and excellent service. highly recommend! Thanks guys 🙂
