Had a good experience here again. I have hired before and will use again soon. Colin is a lovely guy and explained why the van I hired had hardly any diesel in it when I picked it up. All good though and they said it wouldn't happen again which I am very grateful for and look forward to hiring again soon. I will update my review then.

Hired a car from Croydon in 2023 and had tge best experience with any car hire company. Unfortunately my experience in 2024 was not a match. I couldnt leave a review for some reason in October 2024 but the customer service was non existent. If I need a hire car on my return trip this year, I hope it is better and the lazy staff person I had last year is gone.

Took the excess off my insurance incorrectly, which conveniently worked in their favour - £750 vs £600. Make sure you check this. Then, on returning with a stonechip, couldn't state what their windscreen policy was (but apparently different to MOT rules of course) and wanted me to pay full excess before even knowing the cost of repair (if any). Left them £250 as goodwill. Colin contacted me 2 days later asking for the other £500 which I refused unless evidence was provided in their terms that they were legally allowed to before providing a repair quote (which hire companies generally aren't by the way). I also mentioned the incorrect excess and asked for their windscreen policy. Was totally ignored and next day they took £500 from my debit card without my permission/authorisation (why bother asking if you're just going to take it Colin). Still don't have a repair quote 5 days later but I guess it's good for their bank balance to just sit on customer money without justification. Use this disgraceful and dishonest company at your peril.

Not sure if their response was written by AI but the agreement number is 7NZ830 and I'll be raising a formal complaint and contacting Trading Standards. There's a terms used for taking money without consent or justification - it's called theft

Never again! Mistakes and lessons learned

Very sad ending! Make sure you take pictures, take pictures, take pictures and ensure the car is as per the paper work before signing and driving off. As they will tell you tough luck, “that’s what you signed for…”, to every question/clarity you require.

- Booked a 7 seater and given an upgrade on site, which I was happy to accept (Larger 7+ passenger van), BIG mistake and now I see why they insisted I took the ‘upgrade’.
- Car comes back with no scratches, bumps or dings anywhere! Then, by some miracle, I cracked/removed/damaged a mirror indicator cover, which sits very high up (it’s a van you would have to knock 6 foot person over the head to break/damage that cover), nothing in and around the area of so called damage, but the convenient cover.
- Got charged for full damages, i.e., missing indicator cover, which Im still disputing. Customer service and staff not helpful in trying to resolve this matter as, “you signed for…”, yeah I did. But come on!

My mistakes, learn from them:
- Booking from this branch, as I normally book (for the past 2.5yrs+, airport or Enterprise South Croydon on Brighton Road);
- Trusting the staff were acting in good faith with the ‘upgrade’, per previous experience with Enterprise;
- NOT TAKING PICTURES (this really got me good).

Currently having to find my own evidence (footage/stills). They refused to show any footage/stills of the car at the branch prior to my hire, tisk tisk…

A big thumb up to Mitchell and Colin of the Croydon Central branch of Enterprise. In my booking, I requested a Nissan QashQai. They told me they would try their best to accommodate my request but could not guarantee it. On the day of picking up the car, QQ was not available. Mitchell then gave me Ford Kuga which was newer, a bit bigger with a much wider display inside the car than QQ. As I was new to Kuga, Mitchell also walked me through the key functions of the Kuga patiently. On the day of returning the car, Colin was very helpful and answered my questions with details. Thank you Mitchell and Colin! I am completely satisfied with this car renting experience.

SCAM. Liar. I booked a car from them as my partner has done it many times. This time the guy told me they have new fuel policy and charged 94£ for fuel in advance, otherwise I couldn't take the car. I just looked for the policy in their web and it is not true, I should not prepaid any fuel charges if I don't want to. It is a 1 day rental and won't even spend 1/4 of the tank. I will make a formal complaint to get the refund on this. Tricking customers with false information is totally unacceptable!!
