My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable tour with Elite Scottish Tours. From the booking process with Kathryn who wrote a fabulous itinerary,to our driver Stephen who safely navigated some small highland roads, and was a joy to travel with. Highly recommend.

My brother and his fiancée told me about their fabulous tour of Scotland this spring (2024), including about their wonderful driver, Graham Johnstone. So, when I needed someone to take me from EDI to a remote country house in the Lake District in England where I had booked a hiking trip in October, and then back again to Edinburgh, I called Graham. With over 30 years in the business, he is now part owner of his own business, Elite Scottish Tours, and I was fortunate that he was available. Having him pick me up at the Edinburgh airport and take me to this off-the-beaten-track country house saved me much stress and worry trying to navigate trains and buses/taxis, and all at a reasonable price.

At the end of that hiking trip, since I had never been to Scotland, I decided that I would take a 2-day “scenic” tour to Edinburgh from where I would return home to the United States. Graham took the time to work with me via phone/e-mail to tailor a 2-day, scenic route to specifically include what I wanted to see and do, all with his experienced advice and suggestions. I wanted to hike a part of the West Highland Way and he suggested doing Conic Hill with a reward of a fabulous view of Loch Lomond. Before that, he suggested we stop for lunch at Scotland’s oldest licensed pub, the Clachan, established in 1734, in the lovely town of Drymen. I spent the night in quaint Callendar at a lovely inn he recommended while he lodged elsewhere. The next day was a drive through beautiful Scotland dressed in fall colors and included seeing Doune Castle (Monty Python and Outlander), the stunning Falls of Dochart in Killin, the cathedral in Dunkeld, a quick stop to see the historic St. Andrew’s golf course (and getting a souvenir at the clubhouse!), and then a late lunch of freshly cooked fish and chips at the scenic port town of Anstruther – all before he dropped me in the late afternoon at my hotel in Edinburgh where I spent my final two nights. I highly recommend contacting Graham if you want to use your time visiting Scotland to your best advantage and at a reasonable price for a private driver. Not only is he professional, knowledgeable, and experienced, he's delightful to be with, and will "talk more slowly" in his lilting Scottish brogue for you. I'm ready to go back to see northern Scotland, this time with my husband and maybe some friends!
