This really made our honeymoon special. Driving around the north west coast of Scotland on almost empty roads with the roof down and shattering the peace and quiet with the sports exhaust was one of the highlights of our trip, so much better than a dull regular hire car. The MX5 is low, hard and you feel everything as you drive so stopping to take pictures or for coffee regularly was required. Very easy to operate once you remember it doesn't have central locking and the indicator is on the right stalk not the left.

Alan was very communicative and punctual. Included is a picture of the boot that fit a small hand luggage size suitcase and a couple of rucksacks (note there is a space saver spare wheel in there too).

Had an amazing time in the cars they were perfect for the highland roads they made the trip really special. the car were generally in good condition and didn't give us any real problems the hole trip. The price was excellent specially compared to other options don't expect concourse cars but they did exactly what needed them to definitely would recommend.

Cannot recommend Alan and Ecosse Sports Car Hire highly enough. Such a reasonable cost to hire what is an absolutely perfect car for the routes around Scotland. Absolutely loved doing the NE250 and already planning the North Coast 500!

Smooth and flexible communication for receiving the car and starting our journey. Alan was very friendly and easy going!
Regarding the car, we got the Satellite blue! It has a a nice exhaust sound with a retro vibe and feels nice to drive as you would expect from an MX-5. However, the reason I cannot give 5 stars is because the brakes were in poor condition and did not inspire confidence in sporty driving! The pedal engaged very low and the brakes felt weak (perhaps it needed bleeding and pads/discs).

Me and my friend had 2 of the mx5 ( blue and the green) they were great fun and we had a amazing experience using them for the nc500.
The cars are 30 years old so don't expect them to be perfect but they were perfectly fine.
