Shambolic.

I rented a 5 seat car for a family weekend in Suffolk and with less than 24 hours notice I was notified that the car was no longer available and "would I like a 3-seater van instead?".

I pointed out that this was obviously not suitable and could Econorent please either arrange for another vehicle or help me with booking a taxi to our destination instead. I was told this was not possible.

The advice given with less that 24 hours notice? – "get off the train at Ipswich and use Enterprise instead".

Apparently the gentleman I spoke to was not only the owner, but also has "24 years experience at the company". He's obviously learnt a lot about car hire during that time.

Absolutely terrible and gives local Suffolk businesses a bad name - be very wary when using.

Unmanned office, and even with an appointment time to collect the car we had to wait half an hour for someone to arrive. Kinda frustrating when you've got a baby with you. Still, cheap car hire and the guy I dealt with to book was friendly and helpful.
