I come here alot as I live close by for my mental health walks and daily exercise. if I didnt end up getting lost one day I would never would of found this place, we are very fortunate to have a little closed off space to enjoy nature surrounding.
can always hear the miniature train even from the house. great little place to visit for the hole family.

Brilliant for families and kids, although toilet facilities could be improved. Playground at the other end of the line breaks the train journey up and the railway is set in a beautiful country park with several lakes. Café can be busy but both the food and the train tickets are reasonably priced.

Fantastic little railway, staff all helpful and polite, just short of £6 an adult for a return journey is really good value. Even had an ice cream, again good value for a big cone and two very ample scoops of New forest icecream. I would suggest as the approach the station turn right in to the carpark there. The main carpark was full and a nightmare to turn around in.

It’s so fun to take a small train and see how the steam train works. Try to sit in the back if you don’t like the smell of burning coal. In the terminal, there is a small playground for little kids and for the return, the train even goes through a small tunnel.

We really enjoyed our trip out on the trains! It's a fair sized length to the track that does a loop into the playground (where you can jump off for a stop) and then back to the station.

They have a large variety of trains, we saw about 5 different ones on the afternoon we was there, but looked like they had loads more as well.

Tickets can be picked up from just inside the station, there is also a gift shop there as well as the cafe.

As a plus, the parking outside is free! A wonderful afternoon on the trains! 😀

Great afternoon out. You can start in the cafe and get some nice food with a fair amount of choice, it's a little expensive but it is good quality to go with it. The railway I good as you can get a return ticket so you can get off at the lakes and have a little walk around them and if you have small ones then there is a fenced off park area near the station to visit. The trains are good fun, and they have space for a buggy or two if you need to take it with you to the other end. The return journey is a bit more scenic and features the tunnel, which, if you have children who are sensitive to loud noises, may be unsettled when they go through it.

Took the grandchildren aged 4 up to 7, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. We got off at the station halfway and had a lovely walk around the lake before catching the next train back. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff.

We have my son's 5th birthday party here today and between the Steam Railway and the cafe we had an amazing time. The cafe food and hospitality was amazing, and the kids (and adults) loved the private train rides that were part of the party. The guards and drivers were so friendly and your train even gets your child's name on it, which you can take home afterwards. Surprisingly brilliant party, highly recommended.
