We stayed here with our party of 6 people and had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The house was spotlessly clean and the hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. We loved the location of the property being situated away from the main road surrounded by lush green fields. With only a short drive on to Yarmouth everything we needed was in a short reach.

We visited Eastern Lee in October half term and were a party of 3 adults and four children.

The cottage is in a good location and was nice and quiet. There was a decent amount of space for us with the 4 bedrooms. The bath in the master bedroom was lovely but the bathroom was slightly odd as it had no frosted windows/blinds and there was a building opposite so you never knew if you were being watched whilst on the toilet!

Cottage seemed clean at first glance, though the children's feet/socks went black after a short amount of time in being there so slippers advised. We also found items under the sofa.

We chose this accommodation for the location for the location and the reasonable cost. However we soon found the reason for this on our return. The owner stated on return that the cottage needed 2 hours extra cleaning after our departure so 50 pounds had been withheld from our deposit. We were very puzzled by this as we had done everything that was asked. We spent our departure morning cleaning the cottage and stripping the beds (something I have never been asked to do on all my years of renting and not really something you want to spend doing on the last day of your holiday). On probing further we were told a bin wasn't emptied and there was a dirty pan in the oven. I asked for proof but was not given any. Even so, I would have been willing to accept their word as it is possible we could've missed a couple of things. However what I could not accept is this took 2 hours extra cleaning and even so how 2 hours of cleaning equated to 50 pounds?!? They made it sound like we were some kind of hen party! It was clear this was a scam to get more money for the rental. I tired to engage further with correspondence debating this to get a resolution but I was ghosted as they already had my money. It put a real dampener or an otherwise pleasant break so I have taken off a couple of stars for this.

Lovely peaceful position but easy access to all of Isle of Wight attractions. Nice roomy and comfortable house. Look out for hares and woodpeckers. Nearest ferry and facilities Yarmouth.
