"We had our wedding at East Soar Farm and could not recommend it enough. Not only is it set in a stunning location with amazing sea views, but it also has a uniquely relaxed atmosphere which seems to just take all the stress out of everything. Marijke and Schalk were brilliant from the beginning and really happy for us to decorate the space however we wanted. They were always on hand when we had questions and made things so easy for our guests in the run up. On Friday night they cooked a delicious Potjie (South African Stew) for our closest family and friends and then were up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day. I would recommend East Soar to anyone who is looking for a stunning place to get married - Thank you both for making our day so special"

This is my happy place - having stayed here several times already. We hired all 6 bell tents to mark my 50th and shared this catered glamping site with friends and family. ||Schalk & Marijke were amazing during the booking process and ensured we all felt safe during these CV19 times. The site was as always immaculate with their attention to detail, in particular the toilet & shower block which is fantastic.||The tents are very spacious with real mattresses - super restful sleep and waking up to sea views and animal noises - just idyllic.||The food was delicious - Marijke makes the best Scones! Schalk is an expert with fire pit food and catered for all our vegetarian, pescatarian and omnivore requirements 🙂 Followed by marshmallows over a fire which the kids loved.||The cliff walks and views are stunning. We walked to Salcombe to pick up boats and explored the estuary. Nearby Hope cove was perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking.||Can't wait for next year.

We’ve just returned from 4 days at East Soar Outdoor Experience and we LOVED every minute of it. Schalk and Marijke are wonderful hosts who work so hard to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is served in the walkers hut and dinner is cooked for you every night. Dinner was fantastic with a wonderful array of salad and veg. You will never go hungry here!!! Marijke bakes wonderful cakes and the biggest and best scones we’ve ever eaten. The site is quiet apart from the sound of kids having lots of fun. The kids had a great time building dens, flying kites and loved feeding all the animals. The place is spotlessly clean. This is a very special place in a glorious part of Devon. We will be back.

Well positioned pit stop on our walk to Salcombe. Very interesting setup with lovely cakes and refreshments available on an honesty basis. The prices are on the wall and you just put the cash in the till! Toilets are available but worth noting that there are no dog waste disposal facilities. Site is set up for youngsters camping / glamping. Worth a visit.

My husband and I parked up as members of the National Trust in the provided car park, although one can pay to park there too using a downloadable app.||From the car park you have signs and a map to plan what route you care to walk. Whether coastal towards Salcombe or Hope Cove, where you can stop anywhere along the way, admire the fantastic scenery. Large rocks periodically are ideal to rest and have picnics too.||There is a small beach on the coastal path towards Hope Cove where we saw many swimmers. Some of the pathways are steep the nearer to the edge one walks. However, there are higher slightly inland pathways that are less challenging. ||One can also walk to the Farm from the car park which we plan to do next visit, having spent hours walking in different directions keeping to sign posted areas and opening and closing designated Trust gateways.||This area is used by many people all really spaced out as it is vast, therefore one feels quite safe to explore. So lovely to not require a mask and enjoy the wonderful country and coastal scenery and fresh air.||Having found this very special place, we will be exploring its many footpaths for many more visits yet to come.
