When they say dog friendly that's exactly what they mean, not dog tolerated, but properly dog friendly. Our 3 pugs felt as welcomed as we did with the delicious doggy biscuits in the very well stocked welcome pack, the blankets for the sofas, the dog beds, toys and towels.
We didn't have to clandestinely let them sit on the sofa with us or let them on the beds, it was all above board! This makes holidaying with dogs so much less stressful and thus far more enjoyable.
Dormy was a delight, the road outside, not so much but the property itself has all you could ask for, very comfy sofas and beds, the kitchen was well stocked too. It's location is fantastic, great for walking up the beach to either Happisburgh or in the opposite direction to sea palling (or, as I call it see Pauline, after a confusing conversation with my mum!).
A short walk to the famous Smallsticks cafe didn't disappoint either, the meal we had was delicious, as were the cakes we took away with us.
East Ruston Cottages is definitely my new favourite holiday company and I (and the pugs) very much look forward to our next holiday with them.

East Ruston cottages is a holiday letting agent that is BEYOND dog friendly, everything is about the dogs. How often we struggled to find anywhere that will accept 3 cockers, not so here, I think sues motto is 'the more the merrier', and it's extremely refreshing. Sue has found a gap in the market in that dogs should be made welcome. We stayed in 'the lodge ', recommended to us by Sue and it was just wonderful. We bought our own bed linen as our dogs share our bed, and lots of throws altho throws were provided, along with dog beds, bowls, treats, paw balm, towels, crates etc. Dogs are most welcome on beds or sofas and the gardens are enclosed. Cannot reccomend highly enough for anyone with fur babies.

Just had a fabulous week at Rose Cottage. Beautiful cottage, which was so warm and welcoming. It was a last-minute booking as I am a carer, and my brother looked after my Dad whilst we had a much needed break with Mabel.

Anne and Gary left the most amazing welcome pack, which included wine, chocolates, flowers, and coffee beans. In the cottage, there were so many dog supplies that could be used during the stay. We had some amazing walks on the local beach, which is literally just across the road as well as Happisburgh and Holkham beaches. Bacton Woods is a short drive and is a beautiful dog walk. The steam train to Sheringham is also a must. Lots of local pubs which are all very dog friendly.

Highly recommend East Ruston cottages they were a delight to deal with. We will definitely use again.

Stayed in The Manor Barn in Happisburgh for our first visit to Norfolk. Amazing. Loved it. Super cosy, clean and warm. Coming on holiday with a dog can be a little worrying sometimes incase there is a list of demands when you arrive. However ERC is so dog friendly and tells you everything upfront. Loved having our dog chilling with us in front of the log burner on the provided throws. Garden perfect too.

Arrived at White Cottage, garden a total mess, nettles, brambles, which one of my dogs got caught in, and large areas of sharp chipped stones which another of my dogs cut 2 paws on. Found toxic plants in the garden too, which might have explained why one of my dogs got drowsy, drooling and lost his balance totally! These toxic plants were huge and in full view at the side of the garden, but had finished flowering so not noticeable. They would have been hugely noticeable inthe weeks before! They are the only realistic conclusion anyone can make of my dog being so ill after sniffing about there! I understand change over times are limited but the foxgloves had been there for ages, and the bramble was full length to the ground from a high overgrown fence. This hadn’t grown in a day, or even a week! ERC knew what breed and age my dogs were, the description said mainly grass, they said it would be great for us. . Had they told me about the dangers of the garden, to check for poisonous plants, to keep my dogs from running on their chipped gravel and police them from the brambles and nettles, I’d never have gone there, obviously! I rescue dogs, not harm them, and no concern has been shown from the owner at all! Packed up and left after 2 days realising there were so many issues and 2 injured dogs, Paid £2200 for this! ERC claimed lack of staff, stones are apparently fine, and then block me from commenting on their site, yet kept the thread open for everyone else including themselves to keep commenting on for hours…so they didn’t want it shut down, they just wanted me shut down. Also removed comments from my pictures! The only refund I asked was for £500.which wasn’t even answered, so yes one member stayed till fri morning, not to the end of the week. Myself, husband, daughter, grandchildren plus all dogs were removed quickly. Would never trust them again after this. I’m not the only one either, but you are shut down and slated if you complain.

Just back from a super relaxing week at Sand Drift - our 4 Dachsies and 1 JR Dachs cross had a wonderful time on the beach at Eccles - we walked to Happisburgh up the beach with visiting friends for a much needed 99 and a pint at the pub.The cottage is clean and bright with every imaginable extra for both dogs and humans the area is so quiet too.If you meet anyone on the wonderful beach it is sure to be another dog lover - highly reccomended

We had an amazing stay at Woodpecker Lodge. Very dog friendly, everything we need there. Lovely beach walks, enclosed field a 5 minute drive away. Great hot tub, enclosed private garden & a game of darts was enjoyed by all the family. Would definitely return

I’ve been using ERC for 3 years now and amending this review to give an update. The first year I stayed at the Nautilus which for my first time using ERC was a great place which we enjoyed, minus a noisy bed. My Dog Teddy loved the beach and we had homemade pizza. For the last 2 years we have stayed at Dormy that place is another level, close to the beach, modern, large secure garden. Only downside is the bumpy road, but would say it’s better than some of the main roads nowdays so not a major issue, but something to be aware of. At both places we have had great welcome packs for the humans and the Dog. I’ve already booked next year, trying out the Lobster so will update after then. Thank you ERC for making my trips so enjoyable and relaxing.
