stayed at 3 Ochter house in elie rented through east fife holiday homes . What an absolute hole and filthy place . Reported my findings after trying to clean place but I had my elderly mother who was recovering from an op . Contacted them and they said they would stick there cleaners in for two hours what a joke as two hours couldn’t do the toilet . Then I put an official complaint in and waited weeks for a reply , no reply so we had to email again and was offered £60 compensation , which was an insult to my intelligence . Debbie who runs east fife holiday let’s should be ashamed renting disgusting apartments to anyone but maybe her house is just like it so she couldn’t see problems . Stay clear of this place it’s a hovel for the price you pay and if anyone is thinking of holiday let’s stay clear of east fife holiday let’s

FURTHER to your reply we left early from this hole debbie , also we had to clean the filth not the over sight of DUST in this place but we couldn’t stand it any longer I was being reasonable asking for 50% back as your holiday let spoiled my 100% of my holiday . Hope I’m future you maybe will take a good look at your company and respond to complaints quicker than 5 weeks and clean them prior to letting . Wish I had swabbed areas and sent for investigation the findings would have been interesting

We have used East Fife holidays for the last three years. Each year we visit Elie on three occassions and every time, we are really impressed with their professionalism. Really can't fault them. From booking to arrival and departure everything is first class. Each year we try to find a property that suits our needs and being next to the beach is the first priority( teenager who lives on the water either paddleboard or sailing). This last visit we tried Mount Pleasence and we have found our home from home. Could not fault it, it was brilliant. The welcoming pack is always a lovely gesture and the first time we have experienced it at Elie. The bread was gorgeous and swiftly eaten by the teenager.
We enjoyed it so much that we are now looking at booking it for our three trips next year.

It's interesting that East Fife Holiday Homes have no facility to leave reviews of individual properties on their website. Instead they have requested that I leave a review for The White House Apartment (one of their holiday properties) here, on their company website, where prospective renters are unlikely to find it. Every other booking agency that I have used have made it easy to leave reviews - but not EFHH.

My wife and I rented The White House Apartment in Anstruther via EFHH and were somewhat disappointed with our stay. The description of the property was strictly accurate but I felt I should point out some of its drawbacks.

The bedroom is tiny with nowhere, other than a small chest of drawers, to put clothes. The kitchen area, although described as galley style, is also tiny with virtually no work surface on which to prepare things. If you eat out every night it's probably not a problem but we self-cater and it was tricky to prepare meals with such little work surface and with limited cupboard space to store food. There was also no cafetiere or any other way of making coffee.

It wasn't mentioned in the description that not only do the owners live next door but also immediately above so there was the regular thudding of footsteps across the ceiling and on one evening somebody playing (badly) an electronic keyboard the noise of which came through loud and clear into the lounge. My wife and I both felt that the proximity of the owners above us rather intruded on our enjoyment of our holiday.

Although the property is so close to the sea its position behind a 6-7ft sea wall meant there was no view from inside (other than the wall) and even outside the view was limited.

Having a nearby car park, however, was a real bonus and the town and a beach could easily be accessed (tide permitting) over stepping stones across a small river.

My friends rented MacDuff cottage for a week in half term. The description on the company website was somewhat misleading in relation to the external facilities. The outside table is not extendable is a metre away from other properties doors, is old and dirty, and the outside is part of a shared pathway from the other properties. Inside the cottage was very tired decor with a very badly stained couch and dirty in places. We washed everything in the kitchen before use. The TV sound is distorted at high pitch sound/speech. Altogether not a comfortable stay and not surprised this company has no facilities to leave a review. I can only hope other potential renters somehow find this review!

I was looking to find out a little more about Elie. East Fife Holiday Homes had been recommended to me so I gave Debbie a call. She could not have been more helpful and took time to talk through things to do, places to see and the amazing range of restaurants to frequent within the town and beyond. Her knowledge of and enthusiasm for the area was incredible. 5 stars as absolutely delightful to deal with. Now desperate to book a stay!!
