Spectacular views from Dunure castle, you can see Ailsa Craig in the distance, medium sized car parking, there is a parking attendant booth however it was empty so we didn’t pay, a good photo opportunity,

A beautiful spot with a stunning view! The car park is conveniently located, and there’s a great play area for kids. It’s a perfect spot to catch the sunset, and it’s not too crowded. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, and the people around are very friendly. Overall, a really great place to relax and enjoy some peace.

What a stunning place. There were lots of people having picnica but the area is huge so you didn't notice. There's a lovely play park for the kids and a staircase in the castle which we wandered up.
The walk goes to the Marina where there's picnic tables and places to have something to eat and drink. Parking was also ample.

Dunure itself is a beautiful little harbour. Picturesque and quaint. Lovely beach at the harbour with holiday cottages available.
Parking here is limited and precarious.
A minute further along is the castle carpark, for a small charge (but this wasn't manned in the day if our visit). Ample parking and lots of grass for picnics etc. Quite a few benches and bbq stations too. Castle is lovely but access limited. Quite high cliffs so be aware it potentially could be dangerous for kids/pets/extreme weather. Overall lovely place to visit.

Free parking (no attendent today or anywhere else to pay) lovely park and castle ruins. Beach is lovely and views. Nice wild swim spot! Also a little walk down to the harbour and you'll find refreshments and a toilet (car park one closed) and at the moment a pop up sauna for after a wild swim. Book and pay online. It is such a cute place. Even a spot for a disposible BBQ available.

A lovely castle ruin that overlooks the sea. A few areas you can walk around with information boards. There is a carpark that is free nearby with a play area if you take young kids with you.

For just a £3 car park fee (April 2025) I got to park up, use the toilets (50p but gate wide open) and enjoy the park and explore the castle. There are gates in places so will be locked at times, but otherwise the access is unrestricted and there are stairs, platforms and railings to make it accessible and safe. It wasn't a massive castle to start with and is obviously now a ruin, but there are information plaques dotted about telling some of its history.
Of course, good weather makes all the difference!

Absolutely postcard perfect, the site has a lovely harbour and playground. Restaurant harbourside has really good food. Beautiful views castle needs more than a coat of paint.🤔
