It's always lovely walking around the reservoir. I believe it's a 6 mile walk. Even though it was busy it didn't spoil the walk. The only downside was there were very few parking spaces and the queue for refreshments at the end of the walk was massive. I guess that's what happens when the sun comes out.

Great nature reserve area with sailing club which offers a range of activities and courses. We did the windsurfing intro course which spanned a weekend. Mike and Dave who run the club are superb and very friendly and approachable.

There are lockers in the club to store belongings which require £1 (which you get back after). The showers are good, and spacious changing rooms and loos. The canteen is very good value - large chips is £2.80, and they sell quiche, pies and sandwich baguettes.

For fellow arachnophobes, the club is crawling with spiders.

The walk around the reservoir is also very nice - 8km, which takes about an hour 20 in total.

A very pleasant place. Lovely walk around the reservoir. A tarmac laid wide path mainly flat with a few undulating patches over the far side from the main cafe complex. If you choose to do the full circuit it's 5 mile in length. It's very popular with walkers & joggers and sits also shared with cyclists. Very busy at weekends but if it tranquility you want then go on a weekday. There are some smaller walks tagged off the main circuit. There is even a chance to spot some alpacas about 2 miles into the walk if you go anti clockwise from the visitor centre.

Absolute miserable member of staff on this morning, they never answered any of my questions and when they asked me a question they would constantly talk over me when I tried to answer them. I left to avoid the unnecessary confrontation.
Will try again another day and hope there is some one with better communication skills working.
