We booked this lovely property for a surprise for our dad's upcoming 70th birthday , wow what can I say it certainly didn't disappoint , the house is stunning and has everything you need for a perfect stay , Matt the owner came and explained how to use pool and hot tub his wife lucy had made the most amazing flapjacks as a welcome gift , recommended a lovely pub for sunday lunch the royal oak .we mainly ate in the kitchen or outside but did use the dining room for a cheese and wine evening . There is a tescos about 15 mins away but we booked a delivery slot to arrive when we did there's a huge fridge and another fridge freezer so plenty of space for food and drink. Most of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms every bedroom has its own theme and are so stunning. The big hit with everyone was the swimming pool which you have exclusive use from 12.30 - 11-30 pm it has a shallow and deep end big enough for fun with inflatables and the pool table was another hit with everyone and the hot tub for the adults was definitely a 5 star we had the most amazing time dad was blown away and would definitely return .

We booked Downview farm for a family holiday, 15 of us in total, 11 adults and 4 children. On arrival we were greeted by Matt to explain how everything worked, where everything was and local places that were worth a visit, on the kitchen table there was a welcome gift of an apple cake that Mary Berry would have been envious of. The house was very spacious, big enough for us all without feeling cramped and plenty of room for activities, the kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable most with en suite bathrooms, one even had an en suite dining room 😉
The house is in a very quiet little village, and with little light pollution at night it is an ideal location for star gazing. Matt introduced us to his 4 sheeps and let the children help him feed them. There are also 3 goats near to the cottage that were also keen to meet the children and were tame enough to be hand fed a few cut up carrots and apples.
The swimming pool was a nice temperature and gave the kids hours of entertainment but is quite deep at the shallow end so inflatables for the smaller kids were required. Hopefully we will be returning next year, thank you for an enjoyable week.

The house was a pleasant stay with plenty of rooms. The swimming pool was a good size for both swimming and the kids to have a play. The jacuzzi is lovely and hot, unfortunately the sauna wasn't working when we went. We enjoyed the garden as well as the BBQ which wasn't the biggest but did the job.

My only gripe was the wi-fi was very slow which when you have a group of 10 kids all trying to get on can be challenging.

We spent a wonderful long weekend here for a family members 80th SUPRISE birthday party ? ? ❤ in May2023. The house was idyllic and in a beautiful ? setting.
The lady who rented to us was a beautiful soul. Full of warmth and light. Her healing sanctuary in the grounds above the house was magical. I felt the peace and love in there when this lady took me in there, instantly.
I was drawn to one of the seasons posters. This was May.. the month of emotion, I was told by this wonderful lady who is a Shamen Healer. I felt it. I sat on the floor and cried.
Thank you ? ? ☺

This property offers great value for money. We book similar venues every Feb half term and facilities verses cost here is great. We were a big family with elderly and children and it served us well. We had a fantastic pub meal at The Milton and had it have been summer and not in the middle of a storm the coast is not too far away. Supermarket is 10mins away next to a quaint little town which is worth a wonder. The dining space works well at this property as there was the choice of dining in the kitchen as well as formally in the dining room. Often only formal is available and it doesn’t work well with little ones. Overall you get a lot for your money at this property and it’s a great location.

The house itself is very welcoming. We were a family of 13 from ages 7 to 75, plus two dogs. There was enough space for everyone. There are 6 bedrooms, 4 of which are en suite.

The hosts are often around, tending to the various animals {goats, sheep, chickens, horses} that they've rescued and are good for a chat to find out about local places to visit. The goats are worth a visit, especially if you have some carrots and apples to spare.

The highlight of this place for us was the swimming pool. It's very clean and set at a perfect temperature. It's also very deep, even in the shallow end my children couldn't touch the bottom - just something to bear in mind for very small, non-swimmers.

Unlike many holiday homes, the kitchen is very well equipped. Plenty of cutlery, plates, bowls, bottle openers (very important) and glasses. The local Tesco {Blandford Forum} does Click and Collect, so we arranged this for our arrival, which worked well.

We were unable to use the bbq or firepit, due to the heatwave/dry spell and the possibility of sparking a fire so I cannot comment on this. We had to cook our bbq food in the oven, but it wasn't really a problem. These things happen and it's nobodies fault.

We would definitely choose this house again if planning to visit this part of the country.

This year was our second visit to Downview Farm for our three generation family holiday. It didn't disappoint. It has everything you need from a self catering point of view in the kitchen. The garden is large enough to set up a football/badminton pitch & boule on the gravel. The swimming pool & hot tub are excellent. There is a separate shower/toilet/changing room, all kept beautifully clean. As a family group, having the pool from 12.30am to 11.30 pm is ideal, as we could all go out & about separately, then come back mid afternoon, for a long session in the pool. This property is ideally situated for visiting the coast, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Lyme Regis to name a few. The bedrooms are very pleasant with lovely views of the Downs & the sheep grazing in this quiet valley. The owners, Matt & Lucy are very helpful and pleasant & only down the road.
