Impressive exterior and striking grounds. Alas once you step inside it is another matter entirely. You find a very tired, worn interior in need of a refurb (which I believe is pending). However, there is no excuse for the poor level of cleanliness found throughout the hotel. Service fine but nothing specia and certainly not the standard one would expect from such a hotel. For £750 for 2 nights for a family of 2 adults & 3 children one might expect to at least be provided with a bottle of filtered water in the room on arrival, instead had to wait at a busy bar late at night and bring tray of glasses up to room ourselves. Regards the swimming pool, I was only able to take 2 of my 3 children ages 11, 11 & 15 in at a time due to health and safety regulations. At the same time there were multiple staff standing around watching football, perhaps employing a lifeguard to allow optimal usage of facilities would be worth considering. Interesting no staff enquired about how our stay was at the point of check out. I did respond to an email for feedback. All in all I would not recommend. Will be interested to see how prices are after the refurb.

Reasonably sized room with modern bathroom and comfortable bed.

It's a big hotel with some impressive social spaces, but I was only here one night, so there wasn't time to fully explore.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and I liked the warm cookie on arrival.

Breakfast was a bit average in terms of options and quality.

We had a very comfortable stay at Dunblane Hydro with a nice room looking east on the 3rd floor.Although busy was not noisy and the staff coped very well at Breakfast and Dinner. Good selection and plenty of food at breakfast. We had omelettes one day and poached eggs another and all arrived in goodly time. Dinner in the Kailyards restaurant was fantastic. Food and service were both excellent on the 2 nights we were there, could not fault it. Certainly be back to the Doubletree. Staff were all very friend helpful.

Can't deny it's a beautiful building with stunning views. Room was clean and bed comfy...but probably getting a bit dated now and could do with a general refurbishment perhaps. Also some of the carpets in the hotel are getting a bit worn. Good breakfast.

Lovely location, huge hotel with gorgeous grounds! Not much to fault.

Cookies on check-in were such a nice treat and the staff were friendly enough. I also liked that they text us once we had checked in to ask if they could do anything. Breakfast was very varied and tasty.

Rooms are dated and air con would have been helpful in the heat. The lighting was a bit of a weird one to figure out. Little touches missing like a cup for toothbrush, hankies were empty… maybe some bubble bath especially when you’ve paid to upgrade to a suite. It’s the little things! With that in mind, we will definitely return.

I was truly let down by my experience. As a loyal Hilton Honors Gold member, I had high expectations, but unfortunately, this stay fell well short.||The room I was given was poorly maintained, with noticeable signs of neglect. The cleanliness was poor, and there were several issues, including exposed electrical cables that felt unsafe. Neither television in the suite worked and the hotel failed to rectify this during my stay. The pillows were clearly past their best and I was unable to get a good nights rest. The carpets needed vacuuming and the light shades were torn. Overall the room felt very tired. There was also a strong smell from the drains. The common areas clearly lacked the proper attention to detail. Torn seating and damaged paint work etc.||Bar staff and restaurant staff are attentive and professional. Front desk staff are cold and unwelcoming. I raised these concerns with the manager on duty. Whilst they were willing to listen, they will not accept the failings in the hotel. It will be my last visit unfortunately. Sad, as this was once a very good property.

Perfect location for visiting the beautiful Dunblane, BUT, whilst the outside of the hotel entices you with its grandeur……..the inside lacks any sort of charm or charisma. The whole of the hotel is tired, dark, dirty and gloomy!
✖️ The majority of staff are pleasant enough.
✅ food in the bar area is good.
✖️Breakfast was lukewarm at best, but a good selection
✖️Dog friendly…..but please, chairs are for humans not animals.
✖️windows in bedrooms don’t close. So, if you’re lucky enough to be overlooking the carpark, you’re in for a noisy stay.
✖️ swimming pool area is grubby. All in need of a good cleaning.
✖️sofas, chairs, tables and curtains are all in desperate need of being replaced.
This could be a beautiful hotel, but really is in need of a complete renovation.

When we arrived we were given our room number and key as well as a complimentary chocolate chip cookie each. The cookies were better than cookies we've had at previous Hilton's. The room is perfect for 3 people and the housekeeper is VERY thorough and keeps everything stocked and fresh. As well as this the breakfast selection is vast so there is something for everyone. Although the dinner selection is not as vast. There are only a few options which for smaller children is not great. But overall it's a great hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Dunblane
