An easy way to get yourself on Derwentwater lake and enjoy the views if you don't have your own kayaks etc. at a fair price. £40 for a 2 person canoe for 2 hours. If you have a dog who'll be happy and comfortable in the boats/ water etc. you can take them too.

Staff were friendly and helpful, booking online first makes it a little cheaper but you can book there if needs be.

Most of the time the water is surprisingly shallow, a foot or less, but at times gets fairly deep, more than the oars.

There is a little cafe down the road if needs be as well.

Worth a trip!

Hired a rowing boat from here for 4 people. £42 for three hours. Cheaper to book online. Staff are pleasant and we had a great time on the lake.

Staff here where excellent in accommodating our group, and reassuring us. They advised us of a weather change on the lake, and offered various options, including a boat change, which we accepted. We ended up taking kayaks out on to the lake instead of the canoe we'd hired, and it made a world of difference in stability on the water. This was at no Extra cost. I'm incredibly happy with the customer service.

Highly recommended for boat hire on the lake. Its absolutely spectacular.
Free parking and toilets on site.

Great! I’ve been here for paddle boards and kayaks - most recently I booked paddle board in advance but it was quite windy so I asked if I could change to kayak - It was no problem!

They also keep bags/car keys safe while you’re out on the water. I’ll definitely hire from here again.

The website isn’t the most user friendly for booking.

Had an amazing 2 hour SUP session with Cam our instructor. It was perfect. He took us over to Herbert Island. It was relaxed while focused on making sure we got round within the time.
Cam was spot on. Knowledgeable and really supportive.
Would definitely recommend it. Well worth every penny

Hired a paddle board from here. Booked online in advance, very easy booking process, reasonably priced hire that included wet suits. Really friendly service, had us on the water in no time. A lovely way to see the views around derwent water. Be careful as if the wind gets up, can make the paddle back to the marina much tougher than going out! Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic day here, pre-booked paddleboarding online, everything was good, wetsuit and life jacket included in the price. Changing rooms are available and you can also drop off your car key for free, parking also free ? highly recommended, the landscape is breathtaking, we will definitely visit again.
