We had a fantastic time at the sanctuary, It was a visually stunning and enriching experience filled with fascinating exhibits and a wonderful ambience.
The garden is stunning, with beautiful flowers and relaxing pathways to stroll along. I loved the pond, watching the colourful fish swim by and the turtles. Overall, it's a wonderful place to spend a day exploring and enjoying nature and the otters. If you are lucky you might even see the train passing by
The visit left us with lasting memories and a desire to return. It was truly a highlight of our day!

Was pleasantly surprised, definitely better than I was thinking its going to be. We came in time for 11am feeding and it was lovely to hear otter's stories. Lovely butterfly farm with lots of butterflies around. Will visit again.

I was brought an Otter experience for Christmas and it was absolutely brilliant. I don’t want to give too much away; embrace prepping their fish and bird-related feed; learning about the different Otters and then getting very close to a few for an hands on feeding experience. Plus we were introduced to a few other residents too. Still buzzing about it nearly a week on, loved it.

We had a great time at the otters & butterflies sanctuary. Compact site, so not much walking involved. Beautiful butterflies and cute otters. Also? The Terrapin pile up was interesting to see. Make sure you are there for otter feeding time

It's not a large place but we enjoyed it very much, the otters were lovely to watch, the staff were knowledgeable and really cared about the otters. We loved watching the otters being fed.
The butterfly house was good, plenty of different kinds of butterflies, there were chrysalis as well, a couple of butterflies hatched while we were watching.
It's not massive, but if you have little ones with a short attention span, it's just the right size!

THE most gorgeous family run place. We went for the otter experience where you get to feed them and spend time with them. Highly recommended and like others have said, don’t want to give too much away! Butterfly house was great too. Amazing day 😃

It is the best experience you could have. The otter are just absolutely adorable and funny to watch and if you pay extra if your over 18 you can watch their food being made and get to feed them yourself. There is also a special place where you can watch them sleep and get a little look into their underwater tanks. If you need somewhere to go that is the best place ever. And the get to the otters you go through a butterfly sanctuary which is hot but worth it if you love butterflies and otters because you have a two in one.

Lovely place to visit with lots of playful otters. The first feeding time of the day was much quieter than later ones so recommend going to that. Butterflies were good too. Small gift shop with a variety of price points.
It's small so more of a half day outing than whole but it is right next to the steam railway so you can wander between the two and see the trains.
There is parking but you can also get the steam train from Totnes to visit which would make a nice day out.
