An Unforgettable Adventure in India

I joined Creative Escapes on an incredible photography trip to India, and it was nothing short of amazing. From bustling streets to the serene landscapes, every moment was filled with breathtaking photo opportunities.

The trip was meticulously planned to ensure we captured the essence of India—vibrant markets, stunning architecture, and intimate portraits of daily life. Whether it was the misty sunrise over the Taj Mahal, the rich colours of a holy festival or a hectic camel fair the experience was a visual feast.

Beyond photography, one of the highlights was meeting fellow travelers who shared the same passion. The camaraderie, shared experiences, and exchanging creative perspectives made the journey even more special. With Creative Escapes you’re not just gaining access to photography knowledge but also connection to the culture, helping us engage with locals in a meaningful way.

This wasn’t just a photography trip—it was an adventure filled with unforgettable moments, new friendships and a lot of fun. If you love photography, and are looking to discover somewhere new with new friends, book a Creative Escapes trip. You won’t regret it.

Just returned from a fantastic 10 day trip to Cambodia with Creative Escapes and my only regret is that I didn't book it sooner!

A well thought out itinerary, which was fully planned by Jon, meaning all I had to do was charge up my camera and make sure I knew what time to meet the group every morning for another fun day of new experiences, cultural emersion, great company and plenty of laughs. We had an amazing group of fellow photographers on the tour, which made the trip even more memorable and I'm hoping to catch up with back home too.

It's hard to pick the best part of the trip with it all having been so amazing; there was a good balance of seeing the tourist sights (albeit often from a much better perspective), to getting stuck in to a Cambodian cooking class and supporting a local NGO school, though I think the amazing surprise photo shoot with monks at Ta Prohm temple is something I'll never forget!

I think Creative Escapes has curated the perfect photography tours, with a great blend of learning, cultural experiences and the luxuries of great accommodation just to remind us we're also on holiday- thank you for an amazing time!

I've been lucky to have been on 2 of Creative Escapes photography tours. Both have made me a better photographer and I'd highly recommend them. Japan was my first and the efforts made by the tutors to personalise the tuition was commendable as well as great accommodation and dining options. The tutors are well experienced and can react well when the weather does not play ball. They always had options. They cater for all levels of photographic experience and encourage you to experiment and give great tips for better shots. I also went to a Sicily 5 day and was not disappointed there. Would thoroughly recommend if you want a photographic experience with good companionship and some lasting friendships.

Such a brilliant trip to Cambodia: it exceeded all my expectations. While I had expected to learn how to use my camera and (hopefully) take a few decent pictures, it was so much more than that. I did not expect that everything else would be taken care of: Reservations at some pretty amazing restaurants, tours by knowledgeable guides, behind-the-scenes access, pre-arranged transport, great accommodation etc. This meant that we could really focus on the photography while enjoying Cambodia beyond conventional tourism.
Jon is a great teacher, encouraging and able to adapt to whichever level he is teaching. I thought I would feel completely out of my depth as a novice photographer, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of also learning from my fellow (more experienced) Escapees.
If you are thinking about taking a trip with Creative Escapes, I can only tell you that you will not regret it: unreservedly recommended!

A 5 star life changing trip to Japan and over a year later I still get excited talking about it. So much so I’m packing my bags for another Creative Escapes holiday . A really happy group - mixed experience and with a shared passion for photography. I felt like a true novice but I’m sure this will have been true of the most experienced too. Lots of laughter alongside a special travel experience I shall never forget , and I left with some work I was proud to share. If you are considering a trip - just jump! The very best of times to be had.

Creative escapes is an amazing company, Its holidays never disappoint, they are unique in every way. On my latest trip to Cuba, they sourced the coolest 5-star hotels with amazing breakfast and swimming pools. They always hunt out the very best places to eat in any given town or city with a fabulous mix of chic restaurants and local favorites all with the very best food. The trip itself is packed full of surprises like a behind-the-scenes photo shoot at the national ballet and trips on a local vintage train. Backstage passes to a boxing training session, as well as taking a vintage car tour of Havana to make sure you never miss a thing. All this and 1-2-1 photography tutoring from the wonderful Matt has truly helped take my photography to the next level. I would definitely recommend these holidays to any budding photographer who would love a travel adventure with super friendly, fun-loving, small groups of like-minded people.

I booked a Creative Escapes photography trip months ahead, arranged work around it, and bought new gear. Less than two months before departure, they changed the dates to suit the founder’s schedule — dates I couldn’t attend.

Communication was poor: wrong dates, unanswered emails, and payment requests despite no clarity on the trip. The director admitted they “dropped the ball”, apologised and promised to refund my deposit that day. Ten days later, I’m still waiting.

The trips themselves may be enjoyable, but my experience of the organisation was hugely disappointing. I’m sharing this to help others make an informed choice before booking.

Oct 2024 - Liked my first Creative Escapes adventure to Cuba so much, decided to do it again in Japan. Different foods are always fun to enjoy, loved each restaurant we visited. The sites selected for photography were wonderful and the weather, fortunately, cooperated. Jon was a great instructor and taught me to be a better photographer (many thanks). Accommodations were in great locations and comfortable. Enjoyed seeing the work of the other photographers in the group. A+
