Had the most wonderful day with Colin who drove us around The Orkney Islands , on a four hour tour with lots of local stories that only a resident would know. We would highly recommend hiring him, and feel very lucky that we met him. He made our experience so special.

Colin was waiting as arranged to collect us from The Borealis. He was an excellent guide, and so helpful lifting a mobility scooter in and out of his boot for one of our party of 4. We had an excellent 2 hours tour, and he made our visit most memorable. Thank you Colin.
Making arrangement beforehand was very easy, and I would thoroughly recommend Craigies Taxis.

Amazing customer service and just the nicest people. We were travelling to Orkney because of a bereavement so everything had to be arranged at short notice. We needed transportation to the cemetery and had to find some way to spend the time before the ferry home so booked a 5 hour tour with Paddy. The communication was excellent and so sympathetic to our situation. Even our ferry transfers to and from the hotel were arranged for us and it all went so smoothly. Despite it being a difficult day we actually had a lovely day with Paddy. We saw the most beautiful places and learned so much from his vast local knowledge that it really helped us get through that day and we will always be grateful for the way everything was handled.

My experience with Craigies taxis was not good at all. I left the ferry at Hatston terminal with a taxi BOOKED, I approached the taxi driver and asked if he could wait a moment as I needed to get my suitcase and he said that’s absolutely fine. I came out two minutes later and he was driving off with someone else in the car. I was left at the ferry terminal for 20 minutes at 11pm at night with no communication from the taxi company.
The experience was shockingly bad and I would not recommend this company at all

We had previously booked a taxi for 4 hours for when we arrived on the Balmoral. Roy was there to pick us up early . He listened to what we wanted to do and made sure we had plenty of time at all 4 locations. He was charming and knowledgeable about everything. We had a great time . He even managed a couple of extra stops including taking me to a beach for a paddle! We could not have hoped for more. Thank you Roy!

I contacted the taxi company as I was coming to Kirkwall and had very limited time. Though I know the town I knew where I was going was a bit to far to walk and wasn't bothered to use the bus service.
I emailed the company few weeks before travelling and they have responded quickly and efficiently.
On the day of the pick up point the plane landed early so I waited in the airport hall around 5 minutes before the driver came at the time predicted.
The way was just a peace of mind and if I have to return to Kirkwall for a day trip I will certainly use them again.

Paddy (AKA Mario Andretti), our driver, was a FABULOUS guide! He was knowledgeable about all aspects of the island and made sure we saw all the highlights. Make sure to ask for Paddy if you want a great guided tour with humor and a smile!!
