We stayed in Shaldon Beach Hut 1. It’s super well equipped and everything was as we hoped. It’s next door to the Clipper cafe who serve great food. Well worth a stay.

If there are any problems, and these have been few, they are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The cottages we have stayed in are all of the highest standard. Absolutely great little apartment amazing views over the estuary comfortable bed and enough wardrobe and drawer space. Pubs are good with regular live music. Know car needed once parked as ferrys, buses and trains are very reasonable. The only thing I would change is the shower tray as sticks out to far and did kick toe on it a few times but shower is excellent would definitely return had a fantastic holiday and Anthony was very welcoming.

We have been using Cottages South West for the last 10 yrs to book our annual holiday in Devon. The staff have always been helpful and very nice to deal with. The various cottages, flats, and houses we have stayed in over the years have always been clean tidy and exactly as described on their website. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Lovely place to stay for the Christmas holidays. The house is well furnished and has lots of amenities; great location with the bonus of parking on site. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we always have great service from Cottages South West. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Compass Cottage in January 2016 which is rented out by Cottage South West in Shaldon. The cottage is charming, and in a great location, but unfortunately the property was not cleaned thoroughly prior to our arrival.

It was dusty and there were cobwebs throughout the property, and there were dog hairs everywhere. The cottage is advertised as pet friendly, which we were aware of, but it just wasn't cleaned properly in light of this. When we called in at the office to give them this feedback, it became apparent that the property was not checked after cleaning, which perhaps could solve this problem in future.

We also booked a travel cot for our 5 month old, which wasn't put in the cottage in time for our arrival, so we didn't have anything for our baby to sleep in on our first night.

The kitchen is stocked full of so much equipment, but there is too much of it (three ice buckets!) so there are no spare cupboards to keep food in. The crockery and glasses are plentiful but are mismatched and chipped.

It could be a great holiday rental with a little bit of a revamp. It doesn't come with parking but we found it easy to find a space outside the property most days.

Situated in the stunning and timeless village of Shaldon we have rented many different, delightful and pristine cottages which have given us memorable and unforgettable holiday experiences.
We can thoroughly recommend Cottages South West and will definitely be using them again in 2020.
