We had an unforgettable experience on this Cotswolds Day Tour from Stratford-Upon-Avon! Paul, our guide, was absolutely fantastic and should be labeled as the "behind-the-scenes" expert. The tour took us on mostly one-lane roads, allowing us to explore hidden gems of the Cotswolds that larger tours might miss. Paul was incredibly flexible with the route, skillfully navigating around a massive traffic jam and ensuring we had a smooth and enjoyable journey.

The coach was comfortable and perfectly suited for the narrow roads, making the trip relaxing and enjoyable. We were also treated to some unexpected bonus stops along the way, which added a delightful surprise to our day. Paul's extensive knowledge of the area and its history made the tour informative and engaging. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore the Cotswolds in a unique and intimate way!

Paul is a great guide to this fascinating area. He loves the Cotswolds and his love shows. He is well informed, knows the history of the area well and knows how to tell it so it’s interesting.

His narration was sprinkled with delightful personal anecdotes: he showed us a tower built in the middle of nowhere by a rich noble whose wife wanted to live in a castle. Then he added, “That story has become part of our culture. The other day my wife said, I’m not asking you to build a castle, Paul, I just want you to take out the rubbish.”

He’s also a safe, courteous driver. Several times while driving slowly so we could look at an ancient church or cottage he pulled over to let cars stuck behind us pass. Finally, he takes good care of his tour. Several people couldn’t get to the pickup point because their train was canceled but Paul, with lots of extra driving, managed to collect everyone at alternate train stations without disrupting the tour for anyone.

I had an amazing time on this full day Cotswolds Tour. The tour guide Paul ( driver and owner) was fantastic and facilitating! My morning train from Oxford to Moreton-In-Marsh was cancelled and I contacted Paul via WhatsApp. He simply told me to catch the next train which was 1hr later and he will pick me up from the train station!. I am sure other companies would have just told me sorry and say no refund. The route was carefully planned and the stops were amazing. I did not feel rushed. I will definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore the Cotzwolds!

Paul gave an amazing tour of the cotswolds. We covered a lot of locations for a day. We got to learn a lot about the history and livelihood of the place. He also took us to a secret place with an amazing view. Definitely recommended

This was a delightful tour of the Cotswolds! Paul was an excellent guide with a vast knowledge of Cotswold history and entertained us with his friendly anecdotes along the way! His energetic delivery enlightened us, and you could tell he loved his job and the Cotswolds! We visited several villages, each with its own personality brought alive through Paul’s informative commentary! The day flew by and we were sorry to see it end. Such a lovely way to spend a day in the Cotswolds! A great way to cover a lot of ground without a car. Paul is both friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area. He even included a few extra special stops along the tour line a hidden church and the areas oldest Sycamore tree which was stunning! The little personal touches Paul included with stories from his own family and the history of area added a touch that made the whole day feel like you were just going around with a friend. Thank you again for an amazing day!

Excellent Cotswolds small group tour Sept 2024. Paul is so down-to-earth and funny!! Pickup was communicated well and on time. Our weather was foggy in the morning and Paul really wanted us all to have a great time. He adjusted our route to account for the weather and we got to see some places that weren't originally on the tour. We never felt like we missed out on anything. Paul knows his way around the Cotwolds and has lots of great information and fun stories to tell. The tour was just the right amount of driving and walking. Even with the itinerary changes we were back on time for our train. I highly recommend Paul and Shakespeare Tours!!!×
