A pleasant woodland stroll.
We visited on a sunny late summer afternoon and walked along all the various paths. The overall length of the walk is reasonably short.
The trees are quite mature and were in full bloom.
I have never seen so many Ladybirds in my life and this made the visit all the better.
We also saw lots of butterflies, for example, Peacocks, Red Admirals and Speckled Woods.
There were helpful and interesting information boards around the wood
The parking was free.
The paths are gravel.
There are no amenities.
We saw no dog fouling an no litter which was nice.
I would recommend this walk if you either live locally or are visiting nearby.

Corrog Wood is located just north of Portaferry and has lovely little woodland walks through it. It's was planted in 2000 and has oak, rowan, hazel and scots pine trees. I followed the red and blue marked paths and got around the woods in 15 minutes. The Stoney Ridge information board shows the best walking routes. It's hilly in places, but has good paths. There's a small parking area beside the woods that would take about 6 cars.

Lovely woodland walks unfortunately spoiled by people not clearing up after their dogs. There should be the appropriate bins there, but even so, it's not hard to take your doggy bag home with you.

Reading other reviews I think people need to realise that this is a man-made woodland. The stone circle is recent, the woods are not ancient, its a beautiful naturalistic wee park, planted by the woodland trust for us to enjoy. It could do with a poo bag bin though.

Excellent walk, especially for kids who enjoy folklorish stories. It would take around 15 minutes to walk around but it's worth it. Various tree barks and stones have plaques with stories and poems. The wood carving (Lily) as you enter looks fantastic and has her own unique tale. My 1 and 4 year old enjoyed the walk immensely. A perfect sized nature walk for both of them to walk and take in the mysterious woods! The fairy ring at the end was a pleasant surprise and added to the mystic. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice place for a dander!
Main A20 is within earshot but out of sight. Simple loop around with a couple of wee sub-loops back to the entrance gate. Room to park maybe half a dozen cars and if you need a rest there are a good number of benches.
All-in-all a nice place to spend a couple of gentle hours.
