This has been our third trip to Cornwall and we found that our recent experience renting a Kia Sportage from Cornwall Car Hire was absolutely fantastic. Forget the brand name companies, Cornwall Car Hire epitomizes customer service. From initial booking to car return...they nailed it. The pickup process at Bodmin Parkway was straightforward and quick. We arrived at the designated time and the car was ready and waiting. The vehicle itself was a new model, clean, and performed well on the road. It was perfect for our needs.

As we are from the US, communicating through WhatsApp was recommended by Cornwall Car Hire. It was efficient, and staff members were polite and helpful in answering any and all of my questions. The drop-off process was even simpler, unlike some past experiences with other companies. Besides, we do try to support local companies and businesses when we can.

Kudos to ALL of the Cornwall Car Hire staff. Hopefully we'll see you down the road again one day soon. Well done!

This was the smoothest pick up for a car hire I've had! EVER! Communication was really good and they were great to deal with. They're all small company, so don't do everything quite the same way as the big companies. Don't take this as a downside, just some things took a little longer ( a lot of form filling in advance plus a deposit that they hold until 21 days after you return to cover any fines that you may have incurred) They are clear about it, nothing hidden , just remember it. Our usual company, EuropCar, are no longer located in Penzance station so we had to look elsewhere. Having read mixed reviews we went with them, and even with short notice over the first May bank holiday weekend (2025) they managed to sort it. We did have to pick the car up at St Erth as they don't do Penzance- but that was fine. Price was comparable to our previous experience with EuropCar. I would highly recommend them, always better to put your money in to a small local company than the pockets of the giants! Thank you Cornwall Car Hire. We'll be back.

Absolutely first class from start to finish.

Flew into Newquay on a Sunday and found that most of the well known hire companies were shut on that day of the week.

Googled independents and found Cornwall Car Hire truly delighted we did, as their professionalism, approach and communication were spot on.

Our flight was a little late arriving yet the lovely chap was still smiling, engaging and informative.

Beautiful car was given to us for our trip and everything about the cars functions, break down cover and our liability was fully explained from start to finish.

The paperwork took probably about 10 mins, we knew what to arrive with, as they’d sent the requirements a month before via email.

Dropped car off for a small fee at Redruth Railway Station on our return journey back home, we arranged this prior to our arrival in Cornwall. We were given the arrangements on where to leave, how to return key when we picked the car up that also went extremely smoothly.

All in all 10/10 and genuinely I would have no qualms in recommending this company to all my friends and family.

Smooth service from start to finish. We arrived at Truro railway station on a wet Sunday to find our rental and rep waiting for us in the pouring rain. Sunday drop off back at the station was straightforward. Friendly, courteous and all round excellent service. If only all rental companies were as professional as this. Thanks again!

A breath of fresh air.

A great approach to car hire. A much more personal experience than dealing with some of the national providers. We were greeted at the airport by a rep who thoroughly explained the car and process.

We were early dropping the car off however this was no problem as we were able to leave the car in a secure car park for collection by a rep as we were heading home. A slight mis-hap meant that we needed to post the key back (I know), however this was dealt with efficiently and the deposit was returned with no issues whatsoever.

I'd recommend Cornwall Car Hire to anyone in need of a car in the area. Thank you so much for a pleasant hire!

Excellent service from Cornwall Car Hire. From the booking process to dropping the car back was straightforward.
We were met at Newquay airport by a very friendly and patient chap who went through the paperwork efficiently. He then took us to the car and explained all the features and controls, and most importantly, which side the fuel filler was! 🙂 After that he explained the return process, where to park and leave the keys etc. A big plus is not having to queue at a desk.
The car itself was perfect for our needs. It was very new, clean and well presented. We will definitely use CCH again and highly recommend them. A much better experience than the national companies.

We had a great experience with Cornwall Car Hire. The booking process was very smooth. Pick-up / drop-off at Truro station was quick and easy. The car was practically new and an upgrade (no extra charge for this). Do not use large multi-national car hire companies in Cornwall - definitely give this local company your business!
