Had a great time in the escape rooms. Family of 14 with age range 6 to 70. All were fully engaged and really enjoyed the experience. The host was friendly and great with the kids. We would thoroughly recommend this place to others. We split into 2 groups and used two of the escape rooms. Neither group quite finished the challenge! But who cares, it was fun. We found the online booking to be a bit flaky. Recommend calling if you canโ€™t get the booking time you want. You may still be lucky.

After searching about we found this escape room while on holiday and decided to give it a go with family. As some had done escape rooms we decided to go for 'An hour to kill' as it was the hardest rated game.

When we arrived to the imposing sight of the castle it instantly set the scene of some gothic horror and had some spooky vibes which was fun. Being isolated as well really sets the tone for the place.

Our games master (Maria) gave us a warm welcome and took time to talk us through everything we needed to know and was a fantastic host. The intro to the game was everything we needed to get going.

Once in the room we found a great set up. Fantastic set design and everything we needed waiting to be found. The quality of the room was fantastic and really helped to enter into the spirit of the game.

The game itself was hard, for the first 20 minutes we felt as though we made no progress but over time we were able to slowly piece together the puzzle and work out way through the challenge. Nothing was spoon fed to us we felt like we had to work for every clue but slowly and surely we began solving the mysteries and make progress.

In the end we managed to solve the game and won with time to spare which was great especially as those who had done escape rooms before felt it was the most difficult and best room they had played. I would really rate the setting, the game and the games master as they really made an excellent evening of fun for all 6 of us. Absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area and worth a journey to visit too. They have other games and we've talked about trying to get back and play another room. 10/10 would recommend.

What a wonderful time we had! We played The Last Testament - fantastic puzzles and clues along the way. Really well thought out. Maria was so helpful and supportive. We managed to escape in the final seconds of the game, great nail-biting stuff. I would definitely visit again to do another room, and thoroughly recommend you check it out. The setting, in a real castle, really adds to the overall experience!

Marie does a fantastic job of the rooms. Definitely worth a visit. Can't wait to go back and for her new rooms when they are ready to get booked in.
Many thanks and a brilliant hostess!

Nice old, well-kept castle. Lots of wildlife in the grounds an interesting place to visit . Went here on one of the ghost tours, which was quite interesting. Only rooms with activity were the cellar and the attic. Would be an interesting place for a B and B or a hotel would definitely stay for a couple of days if it was .

We visited twice on consecutive days to play the escape rooms... what an amazing setting, and the Games Master Maria was so welcoming and fab at explaining everything.
Thank you so much - we will be back!

4 of us did closeburn castle escape rooms. We were welcomed at the castle door with a warm smile and lots of laughs. I highly recommend trying the escape rooms. We are definitely going back to try the other two rooms. Great fun for families, friends and birthday's. ( even though we didn't escape) ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜€

We had the pleasure of visiting Closeburn Castle this year in May. . Even although our visit was an informal drop in, I would like to thank the family for the warm welcome and hospitality we received.
It has been on my wish list for some time to visit my โ€˜ancestral homeโ€™ even although our branch of the Kirkpatrick family is not on the tree, lol. We bought some souvenirs, and I wear my hat and coat of arms with pride.
Sincerely
Vivien C. (nรฉe Kirkpatrick)
