A Little Slice of Heaven in Dorset

What an absolute gem! Chisel Barn is truly a little slice of heaven—a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, the property perfectly blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Exposed beams and thoughtful design touches create a space that feels both luxurious and homely.

Every detail has been carefully considered—from the beautifully crafted interiors to the immaculate grounds. The cottage was sparkling clean upon arrival, and the lush garden, with its neatly trimmed hedgerows and lavender borders, was a haven for birds, bees, and butterflies. The views from every window are breathtaking, a reminder of the calm and beauty Dorset has to offer.

We were warmly welcomed with a generous starter pack of eggs, milk, fresh bread, and coffee—such a thoughtful touch that made settling in effortless. The cottage has absolutely everything you could wish for, making it a true home away from home.

Lucinda clearly has impeccable taste, style, and a wonderful eye for detail. Every corner of this property reflects her class and care, and it shows in how well-maintained and inviting everything is.

This was our first trip to Dorset, and staying here made it unforgettable. We’re already planning our return and cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will not be disappointed—we promise!

Thank you again x

Stayed at Fox Ditch with partner, daughter and baby grandson. Lovely property, with all we needed (including cot and highchair) with a generous welcome pack to start our stay. Beautiful spot for walking or just relaxing in the garden. The village shop has recently won an award and is well worth visiting for anything you forget. Highly recommended.

We spent a lovely week at Fox Ditch with our two dogs. There are walks from the door including Hambledon Hill, The Trailway and into Child Okeford. Sunday lunch at The Saxon Inn and lunch at Gold Hill , both in Child Okeford were excellent. Fox Ditch is a great base for visiting Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, The New Forest, Poole, Swanage and Shaftesbury.
