Such an anticlimax...had lots of doors, an elevator and carpet. It had no fun stuff and I had to endure minutes for my friend to get his Chinese visa 🥱 The door staff are lovely especially the poor lady with the sore back that welcomes people, she was amazing! Give her a blanket at least employers when it gets cold, she sits in front of that constantly opening door all day!

Great, but you can't your phones copy of documents
You need to have a printed copy.

Very quick service. Make sure you print off your certificate with the barcode on it as this is required to get your number in the queue.

Despite it being very quiet with no one behind me in the queue, and me hiding my frustrations with the process, the counter staff member was grumpy from the very beginning. If it helps anyone else, I was given a number for the China immigration hotline 0086 12367 to call for advice as the counter staff refused to answer even simple questions about the tourist visa application process. This isn't obvious from the online application system, but for tourist visa I was told you must bring 5 documents: signed printout of completed application form, passport (which you must leave at the centre), copy of first page of passport, printout of hotel booking(s) which must have your name on them, and return flight document with your name on it.

Edit: I would recommend calling the number above as I had my questions answered promptly, and you don't need a visa under certain conditions.

Hope this review helps prevent someone else from wasting a long journey to Edinburgh and a half day off work like I did!

Had a really quick & easy experience for processing my Visa. I visited in the morning so there was no queue - staff was lovely and polite, checked my documents and provided me with collection slip & payment receipt. Process required 4 working days.

I found it really difficult to understand the requirements and info from their website - I would advise emailing them to ask for required documentation and they will send you the appropriate links which was very helpful for me. (I don't suggest calling - their phone system doesn't seem to work)
