A brisk steep climb to the falls, and fantastic views from the top at Green Bell (605m) and Randy Gill Top. Access has recently been upgraded around the footbridge.

Really great hike for young families.
We walked from the layby just past the cross keys inn and my 4 year old was able to walk nearly to the top.
Well constructed path that's easy to follow. We went up in February and were lucky to have good, mild weather.
Well worth going up, there are several routes available that cater to different abilities and time limitations.

England's highest waterfall. Lovely 2.5 mile walk from Cross Keys Temperance Inn. Can park in layby, then down a small set of steps near a fishing sign. Cross river on foot bridge and then follow the grassy path to the waterfall. Wouldn't advise climbing to high on the path in bad weather, can get slippery and very windy. Return along the same route.
Walk can be made into a circular taking in The Calf and Sedbergh.

We visited here just over a week ago. It is absolutely beautiful. The scenery is outstanding and is very relaxing. The walk is fairly easy, obviously but of a steeper climb towards the top. It is a 'little piece of heaven'. Would recommend a visit. Parking is roadside. Unfortunately the day we went the pub was closed otherwise looked a nice place for a coffee /drink after your walk.

Good path, suitable for most, a little wet in places. Climb to the falls is fairly steep but you can get a great view of them long before the climb. Those that are a little more adventurous, take a left towards the stream before the falls, you will be rewarded with lots of very pretty small waterfalls.

Note there are sheep and semi wild fell ponies. And one longish narrow bridge at the start with steps.

Beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dale's. A good 4km country walk and for the more ambitious and fit if you don't mind heights, a 200m uphill stepped climb to the top of the highest waterfall in England with spectacular scenery especially if the weather is good (p.s photos do not do it justice, it is still quite a steep uphill climb.. even with steps)
