I've been a few times before, this being the first time when I've met other people whilst walking around. Plenty of hides to look for wildlife from, with information about the wildlife. Meets up with the Stockley Trail, also a good walk.
Very peaceful and tranquil. Would recommend. No need to buy tickets or wait to enter.

We started in Peter Fidler nature reserve and walked into this one. Nice area, but disappointed there wasn't a circular route round the water. Also sad that on this stretch of our walk it appears that dogs need to take a break, shame they are not cleaned up after by the owners...

A few areas where you can stop and look at the birds or just rest.

Enjoyable time walking around this lovely wooded area. I parked at Peter Fiddler Nature Reserve Car Park. You can walk around this reserve, then on to Carr Vale Nature Reserve and then on to Carr Vale Pond. Lots of other paths to follow. Recommended.

If you're a twitcher, and I'm not referring to any medical condition there, and enjoy a peaceful hideaway with your spotter or binoculars then this is for you and, to be honest, I found this Derbyshire wetland nature reserve to be absolutely amazing!
A smallish (15 vehicles) car park at the end of Riverside Way, Bolsover will be your ideal spot to access both Peter Fidler nature reserve and Carr Vale before heading onwards to Stockley Trail. We did this and return to car park is around 6.75 miles.

Didn't see much of the place except from afar so can't really give a fair review, but it does look like a place we would consider visiting properly another time.
