Carlton Marshes was a lovely place to visit. We walked over three miles. There are several different pathways to take. There are several places to sit and rest on your way round. Dogs are allowed on a lead. There are toilets at the entrance, including disabled ones. There is a café, which serves light lunches, drinks and ice lollies. There is a gift shop for your souvenirs and homemade chutneys. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful.

Beautiful place for a walk and to appreciate nature! I remember coming here when I was a little girl in school and learning about minibeats. They cafe, discovery centre and gift shop are in a stunning building with a large viewing window onto the marshes. There are various “incognito” viewing sheds around the marshes. There is parking on site however we walked in from Oulton Broad!

My FIL lives near here and we visit here often. It's a stunning place for bird-watching (and the staff very helpfully write all sightings on their blackboard), there are lovely tours and events you can join, the café and shop offer nice food/drinks and gifts and our favourite aspect is the large play/climbing area made almost entirely of wood.

I have been here a few times, there's a wonderful large outside play area for children, and a good toilet block which is always clean and well maintained. There's bins for rubbish throughout and a lovely cafe. On a sunny day it's absolutely beautiful and a very pleasant place to go for a long walk and clear your head while also not being too far out in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend.

Parking is free.
There's a cafe.
There are also toilets.
Some of the paths are concrete and suitable for buggies, some are not, and are really quite muddy.
Suitable footwear is recommended.
You can do some really long walks here.
Dogs are welcome but on leads at all times.
Worth a visit !

Very pleasant easy trail around marshland that is gradually being turned back to it's natural condition.

Just spent a lovely couple of hours on Easter Sunday walking the Red Route. Weather wonderful. The car park was pretty full but no problem at all getting tea and cakes at the café.

Went again on Sunday 27th October. Glorious autumnal day. The café was busy but not rammed. The food and coffee was excellent.

We went on one of the trails. It is such a great facility for accessing the nature of the area.

The car park was pretty full and there were many out walking, some with dogs.

If you like nature, this is such a brilliant place to bring your family. It's free although donations are sought but not intrusively.

For me this is the absolute best of Britain, inclusive, open and free to enjoy.
