Brilliant company, hired a motorhome for a week and it was amazing. Lots of room for the four of us, very comfortable to drive. Everything you would need inside for a great week away. We took it to the of wight and it made it a great experience. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and use again.

I needed a last-minute car hire as my own vehicle was unexpectedly off the road. Car or Van Specialist Vehicle Hire provided an excellent service, allowing me to collect a car the same day. The process was smooth and hassle-free, and I even extended the hire for an extra week with no issues. The staff were absolutely amazing- friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. Brilliant service! I would just like to say a big thanks to Gareth and the team at Car or Van Specialist. My driving school car broke down on me and when I contacted them at 10am the car was on my driveway by 3pm the same day! That’s what you call service! I recently had an unfortunate experience with the van hire agency, Car Or Van. The reality of their service did not live up to what was advertised online, leading to frustration and, eventually, my decision to seek services elsewhere.

While their website boasts a generous allowance of 150 miles per day, I was only granted 100 miles per day for my hire. What's more, they advertise an extra mile charge of 10p, but I was asked to pay 15p per extra mile.

The situation became even more complex when it came to insurance. Despite their website claiming that insurance is included, I was told to arrange my own. I went through the effort of sourcing two separate insurance quotes, only to be informed that neither met their requirements.

Given these discrepancies and difficulties, I decided to opt for another service provider. I found the booking process with both Europcar and Enterprise significantly more straightforward, transparent, and even more cost-effective.

Unfortunately, due to these inconsistencies and the misleading information presented, I cannot recommend Car Or Van's services. It's disheartening to find a company whose practice does not align with their advertised promises.

I hope this review helps other customers make a more informed decision and prompts Car Or Van to improve their transparency and customer service.

Excellent service! Hired a large white van for small flat removal. Van was impeccably clean and perfect to drive. The staff were incredible and very understanding after an extremely stressful day. Highly recommend this company for van hire.

Friendly polite service from the top to the bottom. All my conversations were a pleasure and they really went out of their way to ensure i had the right specialist vehicle for my needs - had it not been for the personal service of Angela I would have been delivered a vehicle that I would have refused - this would not have been there fault, but the fault of the intermediary who couldnt grasp how simple the request for what I needed was. I am grateful they were the end provider and will happily use them myself for any direct specialist hires I may have.

Really friendly and helpful, from start to finish.
I needed a van that could tow a caravan at the last minute, no one from the local hire companies could help, because of no tow hook or no insurance. Then Car or Van popped up in the search and I gave them a call. They specialise in providing these sorts of specialist vehicle requests and the availability was confirmed over the phone in a couple of minutes.
I picked up the van a couple of hours later, and I must say, even though it was a 17 plate I thought it was a brand new vehicle as it was so immaculately clean.
I got my job done and returned on the same day, had a good old chat with the lovely people in the office there and was shown a fantastic camper, which I now plan to hire for a trip away with the wife..
Excellent service, reasonably priced - my new ‘go to’ place for hire..
