We have recently returned from our first visit to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana, booked through Cape Tours. From our very first enquiry we were impressed. Mike really listened to what we wanted and put together a fabulous itinerary. He unfailingly answered all our questions and gave us lots of helpful advice prior to departure. Our holiday was perfect from start to finish! Fabulous itinerary - at the right pace. The accommodation booked was superb- and we always seemed to be given the best rooms! Flights, car hire, pick-ups and excursions all went like clockwork. We have no hesitation in recommending Cape Tours. As well as the wonderful service they provided, their price was well below that offered by other companies.

This was our second visit to South Africa that Mike at Cape tours has organised and booked for us. We cannot fault him and his team’s efforts and his organisation and knowledge to ensure we have had truly fantastic holidays. From the moment we set off to the time we got back everything ran smoothly. The Safari at Sanbona reserve was fantastic with 5 star accommodation and was the highlight of the trip. All of the locations and accommodation Mike chose were excellent. We also traveled from Cape Town to Pretoria on Rovos Rail. This was a great experience and we would highly recommend it.
For anyone wishing to visit this fantastic country on holiday I would not look anywhere else organise it for you.
Mikes knowledge of the country and his advice and recommendations were all invaluable to us.
We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and would certainly use him again.

Have just returned from our fifth trip to Africa,all organised by Cape Tours. This trip in particular taking in Zimbabwe, Botswana and S Africa proved to be the trip of a lifetime. Superbly planned and structured, great transport,amazing wildlife and scenery. Hospitality standards, food and wine all of the highest quality.
For anyone considering a trip to Africa I would most strongly recommend Cape Tours.

Another fabulous holiday to Kenya booked with Mike and Cape Tours. All plans went smoothly with Mike using Cheli & Peacock as ground handlers in country; the concierge service from landing was first class, with a handle-holding service provided from the moment we touched down until our departure 10 days later when C&P managed to get us through business class entry for departures avoiding a massive queue at security scanning. The booking process was as seamless as ever and having benchmarked Cape Tours against other mainstream providers I continue to find Mike’s competitiveness vs quality a key differentiator. The camps were all fabulous and we had some of the best game viewing we've experienced in 7 years travelling all over Africa with Cape Tours. Having visited Africa on 11 occasions since 2015, across ~30 lodges staying in South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Rwanda I would think of booking with no another operator beyond Cape Tours. We visited Zimbabwe/ Zambia in July, are just back from Kenya last week and I'm heading off to Zambia again mid-Oct. For the latter deal, Mike was able occasions to secure a fantastic deal/ discount through his ground handlers making an otherwise cost prohibitive safari possible. Mike and Cape Tours Ltd deliver every time and I'd happily recommend them to any new clients. The personal touch that comes from a smaller independent agent is a key differentiator for me with Mike always only a phone call away!

“Best Trip Ever” All Down To Mike Thomkins @ Cape Tours

I should also say that we loved everything about this 1st trip to SA; from the time we arrived at Port Elizabeth and we we’re given a car upgrade to a Mercedes C 180, nice! Right through until we arrived at the car hire return at Cape Town Airport where a porter took our cases from the car, trolled them, chatting all the way, right to the BA departure desks; truly unbelievable.

It was said to us that possibly we would find the best rooms with the best beds, which was certainly true; I think all the beds we slept in were foam type mattresses, which we’ve never had anywhere we’ve been, and suited us really well as sometimes my wife suffers from back problems. The standard of cleanliness of the actually places were absolutely 1st class, and some of the fixtures and fittings; well, were just amazing. This was particularly true of Cinnamon in Wilderness; at Rosenhof they even washed the car in the morning!!!

Again we also found all the restaurants visited (and of course the wine!) of a higher standard than in the UK with the added advantage of being by far much cheaper. We came to the conclusion that we were eating and drinking for about half of what we have to pay for here, and served by cheerful, enthusiastic people.

We in particular was just overcome with the friendliness of the people, something we miss being from Scotland living in the South East of England.

Truly there was not one thing in our whole trip we could complain about, nothing! Not even when we had power sharing, it just amazed us how well everyone coped and just got on with it!
