What a fabulous way to spend an hour or so. The river was beautiful, clear water and easy to manage for both adults and kids (we had kids ranging from aged 4 to 12 years). So much fun!

We camped from Fordwich to Grove Ferry and were then driven back to Fordwich in the canoe wild van.
Lovely relaxing experience. Going early in the day was so quiet and it was only at the end part by grove ferry that we actually passed anyone else. We did it in 2 hours 20 mins at a very relaxed pace. It wasn't strenuous at all and even someone inexperienced would manage it paired with someone with a little more experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful scenery, good fitness and fun activities to do.
Firdwich has beautiful crystal clear water, you can see the floor.
The water does get a bit less appealing towards ferry grove if you are doing the 2.5 hours.

If you want a good challenge i recommend doing fordwhich to grove ferry (down stream) or the other way round if you want up stream.

If you just want to see beautiful scenery and clear water then the 1 hour fordwich out and back is good. (Its about 25-30mins out and 30-35 mins back depending on how welk you paddle.)

After canoeing there are some lovely spots for picnics along the water, walking tracks or a 2 local pubs in fordwich villiage where you can have something to drinknor eat by the water.

I’ve always wanted to try kayaking or canoeing, but I have a fear of water. Since it was my birthday, I decided to challenge myself and face that fear. My husband and I went canoeing, and we absolutely loved it! The price was very reasonable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and supportive, which made the experience even better. We enjoyed it so much that we visited again—and it was just as amazing the second time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, even if you’re nervous like I was! If you are someone like me who wanted to try it for the first time this place is definitely good for a fresh and peaceful start.

Unforgettable experience on the Evening Beaver Tour. We were lucky to see 8 different beavers during the trip!
Our guides Ryan and Frankie were really welcoming, knowledgable and skilled at both spotting Beavers and showing us the signs of their activity along the riverbank. We got really lucky with sightings and would recommend this tour to everyone!

What an incredible experience - lovely location, friendly staff and it’s dog friendly. We hired paddle boards for an hour and a lovely member of staff, Dan, was so patient while we introduced our dogs to paddle boarding for the first time. River was beautiful, equipment was great and overall would highly recommend!
