Cannock Chase Forest is outstandingly beautiful and a joy to explore either walking, on a mountain bike or on horse back. For the best experience and to see more of the forest, which covers many square miles, an ebike is the way to do it. There are various routes into the forest, most are well sign posted and the visitor centre is worth a visit with a cafe, toilets and excellent mountain biking cycle shop nearby at the entrance to the trails. The Forestry Commission does a great job of maintaining the forest and its trails and it's well worth a visit. It looks beautiful in all seasons .

The forest is lovely. However took my grandson around the Graffalo trail today. On site for 1hour ten minutes and got charged £7.30 for parking. After a nice walk I came away feeling absolutely robbed. There is no need for such extortionate car parking charges. I could have taken him to an indoor soft play for a lot less than my car park charge.

Visited Cannock Chase, via Marquis Drive, numerous times with family to walk and cycle along the tracks and trails. However, our latest visit 10 days ago was a little disappointing. A number of well established tracks and trails in and around the Takeroo area and down passed the forestry cottages to the Grounds cafe have been almost obliterated with deep water filled gouges caused by heavy machinery due to forestry harvesting. We spoke to an operative nearby and asked if the tracks would be returned to passable trails. His reply was '...this is a working forest, and it was unlikely that the trails and tracks would be fully reinstated..'. This is a shame as these less used trails were very welcome for regular visitors.

Attended a gig here in the forest live events. Really stunning location for it.
Will be back for a walk with the dog soon to explore the woods for sure.
The organisation of the event was great, the parking was well stewarded too.
The only issue was getting into the venue as only one person scanning tickets at the priority entrance which slowed things down a bit. But still a brilliant night.

Our favourite local hangout, we are here most weekends. We prefer the smaller park ups away from the crowds, but will use Birches Valley for the bikes.

Just the most beautiful place to be. I go to the far end of the forest where it's quiet away from all the people and you're more likely to see deer. Plenty of paths to follow and places to explore can spend as much time as you like here. Plenty of small car parks along the roads. Please drive slowly so much wildlife around the pheasants like to jump out on you and far too many deer get killed by careless driving.
