Had a great trip 27.07.24 from Bradford on Avon to the aqueduct at Avoncliff. All of the volunteers are very experienced & knowledgeable. Refreshments & snacks can be purchased on board at a reasonable price, while you enjoy a few hours of peaceful floating down the canal. You get the chance to hop of if you want to walk across the viaduct or stay on board & float peacefully across before turning around & coming back, plus you go through a lock. I have also taken my grandchildren on these trips, everything is perfectly safe for young ones, look out for their special trips. If you have a few hours & want to get away from the crowds can definitely recommend.

An interesting day spent on the Kennet & Avon Canal. The volunteers on the boat were very knowledgeable and interesting. The trip was particularly challenging as a tree had fallen into the canal and our way was blocked, and another boat had got stuck trying to turn round. All in a day's work!

Our party of three had the most enjoyable afternoon on Barbara mclellan barge on Sunday 7th April. The skipper, and crew were amazing. They were reassuring, friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. We had great company with the other guests. The trip was relaxing, interesting and great fun. It exceeded all our expectations. Thank you so much, we will return.

What an absolutely wonderful afternoon. Guests from South Africa had an experience they will never forget. The staff were so friendly (and patient with our rather boisterous group!). They loved every minute of it. With all their international travel, none had ever been on a canal boat, a canal, through a lock. They thoroughly enjoyed it and would never have considered doing it on their own.. but were very grateful that they were taken. Thank you all for a fabulous trip!

We enjoyed our canal tour. The staff were lovely, very enthusiastic. You can tell they all love their jobs! It was very relaxing. Getting off the boat at the aqueduct was great, and Cathy told us some interesting stories about building the bridge, and the local pub, which we would never have seen if we didn't go on this trip. Would recommend it. Thank you so much.

Very peaceful boat trip. Going through the lock was very fun especially for the little ones, you get a little wet when you’re at the front of the boat going up. At the end of the trip they gave out some sweets to each table for passing the eye-spy. They give out eye-spy at the start of the trip for the kids and adults if they would like, and at around the turning point they give out crosswords, harder ones for adults and nice simple ones for the kids. Highly recommend for any occasion, whether it’s just to try out being in a barge on a canal or for just relaxing.

Really enjoyed this trip. I felt so relaxed afterwards enjoying the slower pace. There is so much history attached to the canal and so much wildlife if you look hard enough. Would definitely book another trip. Thanks to all who were quietly working hard in the background.
