Booking my volunteering trip through Camp South Africa was the best decision this summer. The Simple Katie trip was everything and more than I could have ever imagined, honestly such an incredibly rewarding experience. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and will guide you seamlessly through every step and ensure you feel safe and looked after. My time in Port Elisabeth was the best 2 weeks of my life and I have even booked on to Katie's trip again in 2025. The friendships, skills and confidence you can gain from volunteering is unmatched and would really recommend it to anyone. I absolutely loved the travel aspect of the trip, as it helps find balance between the days volunteering. Cannot wait to go back!

I went on @SimplyKatie’s Camp South Africa trip and it was the best experience ever. I have always been shy and nervous and this experience gained my confidence so much, I met amazing friends and also amazing children and teachers/daycare workers. Learning about how other people live was such an eye opening experience. I loved it so much that I will be going back to do Camp South Africa again in 3 months time!!

This trip has changed my life. It was so much more than I ever expected, I can’t explain how special it was. The people I met and the connections I have made are friends for life now. Port Elizabeth is beautiful and the people are even more beautiful. The kids at the schools are just so special I don’t have words to explain how amazing they are. You just need to go and experience it for yourself. The organisation from the Camp Team was second to none, I felt 100% safe at all times and everything was organised perfectly from day one. It really makes a difference travelling solo when you are picked up from the airport by smiling faces welcoming you. I was asked was there anything I would change or recommend for future trips… There is not one thing I could say needs improved or added. It was a perfect mix of work and social life. It was amazing to meet people from so many different countries and learn so much from them. We were all different ages but it felt like we were one big family. I’m so grateful for this experience and would recommend it to anyone, especially travelling solo. Just do it!! You will meet so many new people and do new things you would never think you could do. It has honestly been the best trip I have ever been on. It just shows you how little you actually need to be happy. A massive thank you to Katie, Kate (My fav gal) and Martin for everything. Oh and a big shout out to Freddie who works at Lungille (Best Hostel Ever) he’s amazing!!! So welcoming, friendly, fun and always had the fire on for us coming in from a busy day at the schools! Thank you guys for the best summer, see you all at the reunion!

South Africa was amazing! However it is nothing like it is stated on the website. When visiting 'camp south africa' me and my friend were the only ones that had booked through this company and we were charged a lot more than what the other company's had charged for the trip.
We were told that we would be staying near port Elizabeth and that there were lots of near by activities such as cage diving. Cage diving we found out was on the other side if south africa and when we arrived at the resort the other activities were 1 hour plus drive away. The beach was a few hours drive from the reserve and there were alot more physical tasks during our stay, such as tree chopping planting, road works. The trip was still amazing and I loved every second. However just be careful don't book taxis and always keep your doors locked if you decide to stay at hostles or hotels!
