Recently took the Ferry for 3 day return trips looking for Whales and Dolphins. All of the staff we encountered from the Booking Office, Boarding Staff and onboard staff were so approachable, friendly, professional and chatty.
The turnaround of cars and foot passengers is slick. The Ferry has clean amenities on board and ample for lots of passengers. A delight.

Bloke at ticket desk says check in for foot passengers is over the road. No it isn't, it's him in the upstairs departure lounge. Sign says check in 30 mins before, tickets says 45 mins. Metal roofed terminal without air-conditioning. πŸ˜‘

The staff are always friendly and accommodating on both sides of the Minch. On a recent crossing for a family bereavement I experienced great empathy, support and a willingness to help that was way above the expected.
Thank you so much, especially Fergie and Heather for their time and understanding.

Great experience with our dog! We arrived at 10am for the 11:30 crossing. We booked ahead and made a pet lounge reservation as well. The ferry only allows a certain number of dogs on board, so if you don't make a booking for the pet lounge, your dog may have to stay in your car. We drove into the ferry car park where they quickly checked our e-ticket from my phone and told us where to park until boarding time at 10:45 (didn't actually start boarding cars until at least 11am). So we had plenty of time to walk around the area, get a snack, and there's a public pay toilet at the car park. Once on board, dogs are allowed in a few areas inside and everywhere outside. We stayed with a dog while his owner went to the cafe briefly, so if you're traveling alone with your dog, I think you may be able to find someone willing to do the same. The friendly staff were very helpful and informative, and they announced when to go back to your car. Beware if you are arriving in Stornoway on Sunday and need groceries or petrol, the only place open is Engebret petrol station, so it's a madhouse.
