Travelled on the 3.30pm out of Stornoway Saturday 16th August.
Very friendly and helpful staff, let myself and dog walk on despite having car traveling tickets (dog didn't like getting in/out of car on drive over).
Clean and well maintained waiting area but no announcements in waiting lounge to get prepped for drive on, so just be in your car about 45mins before departure time. 👍
Stornoway currently doesn't have a gang plank so you walk on via the car deck .. plenty space tho and stairs/lift are easily accessible to all.

A stunningly calm crossing and we had the excitement of a "practice winching" 😃

Another smooth and hassle-free crossing with Calmac! We got the early morning ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool. Had to wait longer than expected for the ferry to arrive, but the embarkation itself was quick and well organised. The MV Loch Seaforth is the largest ferry in the fleet, with two inside and two outside passenger decks. As well as a restaurant serving a good choice of meals, and a coffee cabin, there's a games room, a children's play area, and even a quiet room where you can take a nap! The two lifts are wheelchair accessible, and there's space for storing luggage. The toilets were very clean. Managed to get a front seat in the observation lounge, and saw a lovely sunrise through the large windows. The crossing took about 2 hours 45 mins. A bit windy on the top deck, but I enjoyed wonderful views of the islands in the Minch, and the rugged mountains of the Scottish mainland as we approached Ullapool. Saw dolphins for the second time, swimming close to the ferry. Great customer service from the crew, and especially the chatty, friendly cashier in the coffee cabin where I bought some lovely gifts. As usual, disembarking went without a hitch. Would happily recommend this ferry service!

Excellent staff. Excellent service.

Vehicle check-in opens 2 hours before sailing. Tickets don't mention it, just the end of check-in which is more important but it would be good to know when it opens.

Apart from noisy kids and dogs, and cancellations due to technical and weather issues, it was great. Managed a nanny nap on the way over.
