We have had take away roast dinners from here, before, which were beautiful. so my husband and I booked a table yesterday for 6.00pm. From the minute we stepped inside the door, the atmosphere was so warm and friendly. The staff were very attentive without harassing you, (like some places tend to do). The food was all home cooked and absolutely gorgeous, and there was plenty to choose from - the cheesecake was unreal!!! So delicious!! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be visiting here again next time we are at our caravan.

We booked the sea view room and it was so calming to wake up overlooking the sea/beach.||Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The little doggy goody treats on arrival were such a lovely touch.||Cannot fault the service, so personable and genuinely happy to have you stay. ||Location was fantastic, pretty much straight out onto the beach through a short pathway. ||I’ve been visiting this area of Cumbria for over 40 years and never stayed in Seascale until now (although visit Seascale every time we go to the area, mainly for ice cream from Mawson’s).||Beer garden is a great size and enclosed, so safe if you have little ones with you.

Stayed for a weekend at the end of May and really can't find a single fault, we had a fantastic time. The location is lovely, right by the beach. It's also a really short walk to the train station which we used each day to go and explore the area. The room was immaculate and had the most beautiful view of the sea. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. It's very dog friendly. Our normally nervous dog was relaxed and we loved the welcome box for her. The food was great, there were lots of options for breakfast and tea. The restaurant and bar are really nice, comfortable areas to sit and enjoy a meal and a drink. We can't wait to go back.

I stayed at the Calder House Hotel over the early May bank holiday and I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody. We had a fantastic experience, Elaine was very informative on local attractions, welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Adam behind the bar was very attentive and we were never left without a drink! The restaurant is brilliant with a wide variety of different meals, we had breakfast and dinner here most nights. The location of the hotel is perfect and the beach is just a short walk away. We will definitely be back and genuinely look forward to seeing the staff again.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the early may bank holiday. Elaine was a fantastic host, very accommodating and informative regarding local attractions. Rooms very clean and perfect distance from the beach. The sound of the sea is glorious. Breakfast was brilliant, I tucked into a fry up every morning. We also ate in the evening at the restaurant also and the menu was excellent. The chilli definitely is as spicy as it says lol 🌶️ but very tasty 😋. ||Worth the 6.5 hour drive and will definitely return. ||See you next year Elaine 😘

This hotel was a great find! Brilliant value for money. We stayed in a gorgeous room, comfy beds and waking up to the sea was dreamy. There’s a stunning room on the first floor with a full size snooker table. You can tell its family run, as has such a lovely atmosphere and the lady who served us breakfast (which was fab) was so friendly. We were interested in the history of the hotel as all the walls and photos are fascinating. She told us about it being a girls school and gave us lots of local history, such a lovely lady. Thanks for showing us the photos of the Isle of Man too and the incredible sunsets, we were lucky enough to see one! Don’t hesitate to book here, it’s fab!

Stayed for 3 nights. Room was basic but we had a dog friendly room which had an amazing view over looking the sea. Food was reasonable and good portion size. Hot breakfast was included and very tasty. The staff were amazing making us and our dog feel welcome. Our dog was allowed in the bar area. Free parking in front and to the back of the hotel. Short walk to Seascale beach and we stayed there for the 30 min drive to climb Scafell Pike.
