May has been an exceptional host. The breakfasts were delicious, and the room was spacious, clean, and elegantly furnished. May went out of her way to make sure we wouldn't be hungry on our outings. The B&B also has a lovely view of the water. Although our room faced the fields, there were places outside to sit and enjoy the view when the weather is nice.

Make sure you add Button-Ben to your accommodations on Orkney Islands. The caretaker, May, treats you like family and makes you home-baked special treats each evening! The food is delicious, and the views are unmatched - we often felt in awe looking from our bedroom windows. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Beds were perfect!

Perfect location, delicious hot breakfast choices, sparkling clean, comfortable and well appointed rooms, and a darling and gracious Host to help answer any question. And fresh made fudge everyday!! A rare gem.

This bed and breakfast is conveniently located between Stromness and Kirkwall and is right on the sea. The owner and hostess, Mae, is the best!!! She couldn’t be more accommodating and is really nice. Our nice clean room had two double beds and a view of the sea. Breakfasts were great and Mae even made lunches for us since we had to leave very early to make the ferry. Mae can offer any information you’d like to see the island. I very much recommend a stay at Button Ben.

May is a gracious host who should be proud of all that she achieves. |Button Ben is in an excellent location but it wouldn't matter where it was - May is the best ! Up at 5-15 am to see us off with a packed lunch / breakfast and a smile. |Apart from the hearty welcome and beautifully baked home cooking to greet us , May had a map ready to show us points of interest ( from a local’s perspective ) . |Her Guest-house is beautifully appointed and very welcoming.

Nice guest house in a good location. View of water. Large rooms, good water pressure. May, the owner, very friendly and accommodating. Nice amenities. No A/C. Had to leave early and May made us take along breakfast bags. Narrow staircase to lug bags upstairs, so a little hard to get bags upstairs. Otherwise, excellent experience.

This spotless bed and breakfast is run by the amazing May. She was so helpful. Each area was beautifully decorated. Everything was immaculately clean. Comfortable beds! The Button Ben is situated with a beautiful, picturesque view! Sunset was fabulous. Easy to find beautiful grounds. | May had a full breakfast selection cooked to perfection. She supplied the room with home baked treats each day and fresh water in the room refrigerator. She graciously packed a Togo sack for the early ferry departure. | The lovely Button Ben guest house is located a stone's throw from all the most famous Neolithic sites on Orkney - the Ring of Brodgar, Steness Standing Stones, and Maeshowe.

We really enjoyed staying here on our trip to scotland. May was a great host! The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was great as well. May offered to pack a lunch for us since we had to leave so early to catch the ferry the next morning. She had homemade goodies in our room when we came in each day too. Just a great experience overall. Thank you so much May for making us feel so welcome and comfortable!
