I recently attended a wedding at Burley Manor and had a truly lovely experience. The venue is absolutely stunning—set in beautiful surroundings that create the perfect backdrop for a special day. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere throughout the event was warm and relaxed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Owen, who really stood out for his friendlies and attentiveness. Everything on the day itself ran smoothly, and you could tell a lot of care had gone into making it all feel seamless.
A couple of small pointers: during the setup the day before, there didn’t seem to be any managerial presence, which didn’t feel entirely fair on the other staff left to coordinate things. Also, the bridal suite could benefit from a few more practical touches—like some proper hanging space for dresses and outfits. That said, these were minor issues in what was otherwise a beautiful and memorable event. Burley Manor is a fantastic setting for a wedding, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone planning a celebration in the area.

Stayed in the beautiful Shepherds Hut. The staff here are absolutely top class. They are so friendly and couldn't not of catered for us any better. From the start they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The location is amazing and the breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful team and they made it a perfect stay, thankyou !

Pretty setting but disappointing service. Pre-booked afternoon tea for my daughter’s birthday. when we arrived they clearly weren’t expecting us so I asked if it was ok as I knew they request advance notice to prepare for afternoon tea, & they assured us it wasn’t a problem. |We waited some time & weren’t given any menus. When served, the tea was very lack lustre - a few ordinary sandwiches- cheese & ham, cucumber, beef & chicken, some small scones that looked shop bought but tasted okay, & 3 types of ordinary sponge cake cut into cubes - all quite stodgy & similar tasting. Nothing like the menu online- no patisserie or treats, and not very well presented.|The staff were very friendly & polite but not very attentive, tea was in small individual pots & we had to ask twice to be topped up. |I had said it was a celebration but no effort was made to acknowledge this. |I politely & discretely queried the menu as it wasn’t what I was expecting & didn’t reflect the menu advertised & certainly didn’t look anything like the pictures online ( the menu should have been SAVO U RY|Salmon and Dill, crème fraîche|Beef, horseradish |Cucumber, cream cheese |Coronation Chicken, brioche roll |S W E E T|Locally Sourced Honey Cake with Salted Caramel |Apple and Tonka Bean Mousse on Sable Breton |85% Dark Chololate ‘Rocher’ |Pistachio Paris Brest) |plus scones, cream & jam|I expected the manager to apologise & accept that there had been a problem with the booking & that they had done their best, which I would have accepted as these things happen. But instead she was adamant that that was the correct menu and that it had recently been changed so would be different to that advertised & anything I might have had before, & that the menu online was only indicative. This was both disappointing and unconvincing- if it is the case the menu is very overpriced and not much more than the tea & cake you might get in any tea room. Certainly not worth the £92.40 I was charged - which incidentally was more than the £28 pp listed. I can only assume the extra £8.40 must have been for a glass of coke my daughter had Or for the top up the of tea? Which I would normally expect to be included?|Overall disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend unless this was a one off bad day . It could have easily been so much better

I thought I had booked somewhere special to take a friend for lunch. We were made welcome by the staff who showed us through to an empty dining room which, for midweek holidays was surprising. |The menu was thoroughly unapertising and decidedly expensive, it certainly dd not refelect the menu on the website. We were told that it was a new menu; we nearly left there and then. Our drinks were presented from the bar - a Coca Cola which was very obviously flat and not from a bottle. |We both elected to have the soup of the day - leek and potato - which came with a green parsley oil through it, leaving a very greasy texture which even the small piece of herb focacia alongside, did not absorb. My friend's sandwich was so thick they were doorstops accompanied by chips and an oily salad. My whitebait was reasonable, with a not-so tartare sauce, and oily salad. |When the bill was requested it was not actually shown to me, I was told the total amount and presented with the card machine. For what we had received I felt it was exorbitant! |Not a happy experience and certainly will not be revisited!

Overall we had a great stay at Burley Manor!! The location is absolutely perfect to explore the New Forest whilst being in a relaxing and peaceful environment (especially with the deer so close).

We were in a garden suite which was a little smaller/more tired than the website photo, but was still very nice, and lovely to have the access straight onto the lawn/pool area. The weather was great while we were there so the pool was amazing to use with nice loungers and deckchairs too!

We ate at the restaurant for dinner which was really nice, and breakfast (I would recommend trying to eat not in the conservatory because the wasps were terrible). The service was all super friendly as well!

Don't waste your money, plenty of better options.

> Hidden charges despite booking including breakfast
> As others have said, food gave a dodgy belly
> Room not ready until two hours after our scheduled check-in time
> Swarms of wasps (This isn't always helped but the lack of any prevention measures compared to surrounding businesses was irritating when 5-6 wasps flew around your dinner plate inside).
> Staff were borderline rude
> Waited 50 minutes to be given a menu before even ordering.
> Food for one of our party came out clearly burnt, they had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the refire, no compensation offered.

Overall, they clearly rely on the location and it's criminal what they charge for the service.

We got married here! We had the best best day, and the event planning team were so helpful in the lead up to our wedding, as well as on the day itself.||The wider Burley Manor team were fantastic too, we had so many lovely compliments on the food and the service and how well looked after everyone felt. ||We look forward to returning to Burley in the future to relive special memories.
