Great focal point for those interested in the Picts or just the history of Burghead in general. Ewan was very welcoming and informative; volunteers make all the difference to places like this, and his enthusiasm was clear. We were lucky enough to catch sight of a pod of dolphins whilst there too!

Great wee visitor centre staffed by knowledgeable local volunteers. Amazing 360° views! When we visited there was an incoming storm which was very exciting to watch as it swept along the coast.

Amazing little short visit if it's on your way, A good gift shop with reasonably priced well made items and a Gorgeous view of the ocean indoors or upstairs outdoors with binoculars that are free to use to see far away land marks.

Enjoyed reading the historical information on display and visiting with the lovely lady in the gift shop. Great 360 degree views on the top observation deck. Gale force winds up there end of Sept 2018.

Finally. For years I have been trying to get into the visitors centre so it was with great delight that it was open when I was there.
It was very informative and got to see fragments of Burghead bull carvings, along with a visit to the well. Ask for the key and follow the signs to it. It's a enigmatic place.
The centre is run by local volunteers so contributions are vital to keep it open and fund further advances on understanding the biggest Pictish fort in Scotland.

This is the site of an ancient Pictish Fort.
There is god parking within walking distance and you can look down on the nice little harbour on the way.
The building is full of historical information, mock ups and models, there is also a very nice viewing area that looks out onto the sea and cliffs.
The staff are very knowledgeable and tell the story of the fort engaging well with the visitors and are willing to answer the many questions posed.

Wow...the view from the roof / flagpole of the ancient pictish fort visitors centre is amazing...truly breathtaking on a cold windy day. On busy seafaring days or for bird and sea life watching, this would be a prime spot, so bring your binoculars and camera.
Very interesting museum too.
Well worth the drive to this small peninsula harbour village.
