Brook Tours, in my opinion, is the perfect tour for first-time visits to the Lake District. David is an exceptionally knowledgeable and amicable tour guide whose love for Cumbria is evident in every factoid he shares.

We opted for the 4-hour tour and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to get a lay of the land, and a whirlwind tour of all the important spots in the region.

David is quite flexible with his tours and can customise it to your needs. He also makes sure that you visit important landmarks that dot the Lake District.

More than anything else, his passion and admiration of the region shows in his attention to detail and his willingness to share more information. We had a lovely time learning about the lives of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, while also enjoying the scenery of the myriad tarns, thwaites and howes (David will also eagerly explain the etymology of these words if you ask about it).

All in all, it’s the perfect tour if you’re new to the Lake District and don’t have a vehicle. David will show you places that everyone visits as well as places that no one knows about. Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend David enough as a tour guide. From the moment we met him, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable. We booked a 6-hour tour with him, but it ended up being longer because he was so accommodating and wanted to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see in our tempo. We dragged out the time ourselves and it was amazing that Daniel adapted to us.

Initially, we were hesitant about the price, but after spending the day with David, we realized it was well worth it. He was able to adapt the tour to our needs and even took the time to let us have lunch without feeling rushed. There was no pressure to do things quickly, and we were able to take our time and truly enjoy the experience.

The communication with David was excellent from start to finish, and he made sure we were comfortable and informed throughout the entire tour.

From our initial phone conversation four days before our trip to the lakes, David made sure everything was perfect. He went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was exceptional. He told us what was possible and what was not making it a tour that where we just went with the flow.

During the tour, David made a special stop to show us where there was homemade cakes. Unfortunately, we didn't have any cash on us, but without hesitation, David generously invited us to enjoy the cakes, especially since it was my birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made my day even more special. We enjoyed it in the garden at Top Hill.

David's kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care for his guests are truly commendable. If you're looking for a tour guide who goes the extra mile to make your experience memorable, look no further than David.

I would 100% recommend this tour. We would love to welcome Daniel and his family if they visited Copenhagen someday. Thank you SO SO much, Daniel. This was the best 10-year anniversary and 33rd birthday I/we could wish for.

David is the absolute best! He took my mom and I on a private 5 hour tour from Ambleside all the way up to and around Buttermere Lake. We had a few places we knew we wanted to see but he took us to so many hidden gems we never would have found without him. He's so knowledgable and kind and tailored our tour to everything we wanted to see and more. We would love to take more tours with him and absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the Lake District!

Our guide David was exceptional and provided us with a lot of information about the local area with recommendations on hiking/walking trails, it is clear he takes a great amount of pride in his family business and made sure we felt welcomed the entire time. There are lot of beautiful places to visit in Lake District
Since we live in London, lot of friends told us about how beautiful Lake District was, but nothing compares with seeing it via a day tour with a local residence David . Thanks to David 20 years of experience we visited magic hidden places with incredible views, surrounded by garnished landscapes with breathtaking lakes and many cute animals .
