My family and I visited with another family. There were 5 children ranging from age 3 to 11. We all had an amazing day. It's free to get in, then you pay for the activities you want to do. The activities aren't cheap, but they're worth it. Our children chose to go up in the nets (not suitable for the youngest), and they were up there for hours. Food is on the pricey side, but it's really good. You can take a picnic. It would be lovely to sit down by the lake with. We can't wait to go back.

Lovely place. We used the river boat to get there and jumped off just because there were plenty of boats running so we knew there'd be another to pick us up

The gardens here are lovely. There's a lot of activities such as tree top walking, zip lining, axe throwing, archery, mansion exploring, go karting, shooting, and more. Because we didn't book in advance we didn't get to do a lot so make sure you book before you get there (signal is poor so booking on the way is hard)

The staff on the peer were very helpful and everything looked so well kept and nice.

Bring wellies tho. It's a very muddy place even when it doesn't rain

All in all worth a trip to see it with the kiddies

Went Feb weekend before half term, grounds nice, playground great, zip world great BUT issue was cafe is shut for the foreseeable future, find it bonkers the info on the website said they had a cafe open. We had taken my mother so she could walk round then stay warm in the cafe whilst waiting for us to finish zipworld. Please can Brockhole put this info out on website and social to help people plan their day?
FYI. The cabin by the playground offers snacks and hot drinks but there’s very limited seating inside, there is more outside so best to plan for this.

Visited first week in Sept 2024. Car park is on a hill and we parked at the bottom end as I have walking difficulties - found the booking office at bottom of car park closed. The only place to book was at the top of the hill - I suppose you can park at the top, book, then drive down to bottom and park. If you want to do an activity we found out after we arrived that you can book them in advance, and all the morning archery sessions were already booked up. While we waited for the activity we walked around the edge of Windermere Lake which was nice and it opens out to a nice viewing area, were the canoes etc are launched from. There are picnic tables here and a small cafe hut. We were disappointed to find the cafe closed as it would have been nice to have a cup of tea while looking out over the lake. We decided to look at the gardens, most of them have steps to access the terraces, so be aware it's not really accessible for disabled. I managed to get up the steep incline to the cafe at the top of hill were main visitor centre is, but it might be too steep for some . Wasn't much food choice, a small selection of sandwiches or pizza. The archery session was very good, was well led and we really enjoyed it. I can understand the bottom booking office and the cafe near the view point being closed in winter as they have less visitors, but this was the first week in September, the last few weeks of summer and we were disappointed that it felt half shut down. If I was to come again I would suggest booking an activity in advance and just turn up at the designated time for that and go elsewhere for refreshments afterwards.

It is a nice place to see the natural beauty of Windermere with activities for all ages along with cafe and gift shops. There is:

Lakeshore activity centre
The garden shed
Windermere lake cruises
Tree top nets
Lakeshore cafe
Terrain accessible for wheelchairs and scooters bit steep slopes some parts can be muddy too.

£5 parking for 2h is the minimum. No exemption for disabled...
