Brill Windmill, a post mill, has a history dating back to the 1680s. It was originally built to grind grain into flour for the local community and remained in operation until 1919. The mill is a significant example of early wind-powered technology and has been restored and maintained by various entities, including the Brill Society.
Who doesn't love a windmill, small free car park and brilliant views.

We visited on a Saturday, it was drizzly but still lovely views even if a little hazy. Very quiet due to the weather (and not a day when the actual windmill is open to visitors)

Visiting Hartwell's Barn and the nearby iconic Brill Windmill was an enjoyable experience, blending history and stunning views. The barn, which is under preservation efforts, reflects the charm of the countryside and highlights the importance of conserving heritage sites. The poster campaign to save this historic landmark was inspiring, emphasizing community involvement to maintain the beauty of this area.

The windmill itself is a true gem, set against the rolling green landscape. It's well-maintained and offers a glimpse into the past, making it an excellent spot for history enthusiasts. The serene surroundings and panoramic views of the countryside provide a perfect opportunity for photography or simply soaking in the peaceful ambiance.

While the windmill and the barn are rich in history, the weathered state of some areas could be a concern for long-term preservation. Overall, it's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates historical architecture and tranquil settings.

A lovely windmill in scenic surroundings. There are some nice walks here also but parking is quite limited at busy times.
