The staff when we were there was so friendly we couldn’t thank her enough. She drew all over the map for us so we could drive to 6 of the lakes. It’s just really nice to have smiling faces welcoming you and wanting you to experience the lakes in its pure glory

Wonderful lake District experience thanks to our host Umair Safdar from Manchester. It was a dream destination for us in UK and we were extremely mesmerized by the beauty and scenery of Lake area. Being Sunday, there was lots of visitors and activities and we enjoyed except cold weather. Specially boat cruise was excellent part of the trip as they offer running commentary to acquaint visitors with lake surroundings and history. Overall a wonderful experience.

These winter floods seem to be every year now. The relevant authorities really should address the outflow of the lake into the river Leven at Newby Bridge. Needless to say all the local business handle the floods well but I suspect flooding is now non insurable.

Must ride in the boat to watch beautiful scenery..

They have a well stocked visitors centre, lots of trinkets to make your trip complete. I swerved them and headed for the Caffe and got a coffee and sandwich. Brace yourself it's expensive 😉

It's a stunning location to start the adventure through Lake District. Hop onto a tour boat to see the Windermere Lake and get off at the other side for a walk, lunch or hot drink. Boats leave at intervals throughout the day so check when the last one leaves. Parking is available for free for two hours next to the excursion area or another one is located behind the information centre if you want to go for a tour in teh bus 599. Prices vary depending on which tours you pick. Then come back and enjoy a hot drink in the tourist information centre for a reasonable price.

Went here on a coach lake tour with a local company in my area. After a boring 6 hour journey (125 miles) with only 1 stop we eventually arrived. Some bloke jumped on the coach at the coach park who thought he was a holiday rep working abroad with his corny jokes and discount vouchers what a knob all I wanted to do was get off that bloody coach! First impressions what an expensive place to go to the toilet 40p what happened to the expression I'm going to spend a penny.......is it down to inflation? I doubt it more like money grabbing council and to be honest the toilets were disgusting not a good start ! The place itself is beautifull lovely views across the lake lots of boats to look at and boat trips available lots of very expensive gift shops and plenty of places to eat. The day I visited the place was full of Chinese visitors who obviously couldn't read English as they were feeding the swans pigeons etc totally ignoring the do not feed the bird signs so inevitably you had to walk through loads of bird s##t! (Don't they have birds in China) I visited the visitor information centre what a miserable bunch of staff they are this is more of an expensive gift shop than a place to get information. With all this negativity I really did enjoy visiting here would I come again yes but defiantly not on a coach!
Finally I would like to suggest to the council that they post a person where the bird feeding takes place with a bucket and spade to clean up or even get a sign put up written in Chinese!!!
