This is a fascinating place to visit. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the talk really interesting covering the digs, the reconstruction of the hut and also the various thoughts and academic theories on the life of the people who lived there. Well worth the £5 charge for adults. It’s also a beautiful beach and very peaceful. Parking at the top by the toilets (honesty box contributions appreciated to help the community keep the toilets maintained and supplied).

Probably a lesson to spend more time on the island as we couldn't get to everything we wanted to see during limited opening times. But it was still great to see a house from the outside that has been there since the iron age on this remote and beautiful beach.

SUCH a drive to get here - I almost turned around I was getting so fed up 😭 however the Iron Age house is definitely interesting to see and read about. The beach is beautiful too.
