Nowadays a lot of us book holidays through the net, but we decided to use our local holiday booking service ( Border travel) and we weren't disappointed. There was a warm welcome and a person (Lady) who was our booking agent. She was very professional and guided us through the package we wanted. We were there about 30 mins and booked our holiday. We will be back.

We popped into the travel shop today to speak to someone about flights to Istanbul in Turkey.
They were very busy, but we spoke to a very nice lady, who was so helpful in looking up flights, baggage weights that are allowed, the prices & availability.
We were told that we can fly from Edinburgh straight to Istanbul, rather than change planes, which was a great relief. Very helpful staff, a lovely clean office, with lots of lovely holiday magazines to chose a holiday from.

If I was comparing this to Hays Travel I would say its 5 stars as Hays was so so poor. Lacked so much knowledge in comparison to Borders.

The women we dealt with knew her stuff at Border travel and was quite efficient at finding examples and we went in with a very vague kind of idea for what we wanted. In 40 mins we came out with a lot more knowledge, 5 different quotes and felt we'd spent the time well.

The only thing I would say is that when you go to travel agents, you want a bit more of an experience, you want them to give you inspiration, you want them to really feel like they care to find you the best possible experience. I wouldn't say I felt that level of service but overall, I can't complain too much. 4 stars is about right.
