Beaumont House - Cheltenham

We stayed for one night in early August, to break a long journey from Wales back home. The house is in a great location, easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking and a gentle walk from Cheltenham town centre. Pubs, bars and restaurants are all a few minutes' walk away.
Check-in was via a kiosk in the entrance porch and worked fine. There were no staff visible but we didn't need to speak to anyone. We had been allocated room 16, down one flight of stairs on the lower ground floor. The room is modern, bright and has a nice little en-suite. The bed was comfortable and the room is well-equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, plus water in a small fridge.

However, there is one major drawback of the room we stayed in: the wall between our room and the adjoining room (17) has pretty much no soundproofing. Not only could we hear the guests in room 17 talk (no secret conversations to be had in rooms 16 and 17!), but their TV and bathroom use was also very audible. Of course, we understand that soundproofing is rarely perfect in hotels, particularly in older buildings, but here, it really was non-existent. It also made us very conscious of moving about. We had earplugs so we managed to sleep fine. So it wasn't a major problem but not something we expected.

Beaumont House also provides two spacious guest lounges, with bar facilities (we didn't use them) and tea/coffee facilities with some snacks provided for breakfast time. There is no breakfast service, though - something we were clearly told at the time of booking. It didn't bother us, as we could have gone to one of several nearby cafes (although we had muesli bars so only had those).

Overall, a convenient and nicely-appointed small place for an overnight stay, but the soundproofing between rooms needs improving (creating) before we would consider another stay here

Were in town after a very long and tiring journey and had been let down in choice of another hotel, so this really was a last minute booking.|Had never stayed anywhere without a host but everything went perfectly. The automatic booking-in on arrival was quick, smooth and efficient. Just type your name and booking reference onto a screen and out pops your card key, which you drop into a box on departure. |Our room No. 12 was on the second floor. Everywhere was very spacious as we would expect in a house of this age and style. Beautifully furnished in an understated way. Excellent quality, crisp, white bedlinen (important to us), everywhere spotlessly clean and a lovely, spacious, modern bathroom that had been thought through, so the lovely style didn't outweigh the functionality. And with sufficient space to place all you could want. (Bliss). We each had a large fluffy white bath sheet, and here comes my only tiny gripe - we had one hand towel between us where one each would have been welcomed by me for wrapping head in after hair wash. The room had a hairdryer and TV with all channels and networks; sufficient sockets and big mirrors in all the right places. Tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge with milk and bottled water. |On the ground floor 2 beautiful and light living rooms, both with comfortable seating. One with a well stocked bar and honesty box. The second with tables and chairs, cereals, juices and pain au chocolate type rolls and all you need to make tea/coffee, so guests could help themselves to breakfast. |Excellent off road parking outside the front door amidst well-tended shrubbery and grounds. |Beaumont House is of an exceptional standard and we would recommend it without any hesitation whatsoever.

This is a self check in facility. On arrival to our basement room was a very small double room - it was tiny and musty. Dust on ceiling light and mould / dirt on skirting boards. Photos of this. Had to leave bay window open entire time to freshen the room. Had someone been on reception I’d have asked to change room l.||The en-suite bathroom was immaculate and cld not fault it. ||This bedroom was claustrophobic and defo don’t recommend anyone booking the small double room. At £88 we cld have got better value for money elsewhere.

We loved our stay here with another couple. The house was immaculate, as were the rooms which were also spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. They were large rooms with big sash windows letting in lots of light and fresh air. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back when we visit the area again. Thank you.

We booked two rooms just for one night with some friends and found this hotel absolutely perfect. Everything was absolutely spotless and the rooms were spacious, clean and tastefully decorated and equipped. We’d 100% recommend this hotel to everyone and will stay here again given the opportunity. The hotels is about 10-15 walk from Cheltenham and 25-30 from station.|As there is no reception you need to type your surname or reservation number into the terminal by the door to release the key card.This is very straightforward and there are no security issues.|Booked the willows suite and was very nice.In room fridge was handy and got a good stock of tea and coffee plus a couple of waters.|The daily housekeeping replenished the tea and coffee.|The room was very well maintained and designed and the bathroom was probably the best I have seen in a hotel.|Bed was comfy and although the room faced onto the road there was very little noise due to the double glazing.|Although there is no breakfast served,juice,croissants and breakfast bars are provided which was fine as just up the road there are plenty of cafes.The area is very handy for food with plenty of restaurants and take aways plus a few pubs.|If you want a no fuss good quality accommodation in Cheltenham without on-site eating options Beaumont House will be as good as you can get.|Will definitely be staying here again the next time I am in the area.

We were going to a works do in Cheltenham and I stayed here with a colleague. It was easy to find with sat nav, has great parking, was beautifully appointed with all amenities. The bed was really comfortable, the shower cubicle was on the small side in our room, but the shower itself was good. There was a fridge, kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Downstairs is a lovely dining and sitting area with complimentary tea, coffee and snacks and an honesty bar. It was great for getting into town (the Montpellier end) when we went out in the evening, an easy walk back and a short walk to Bath Road the next morning to a lovely cafe for brunch! We would definitely stay here again.

Beaumont House is a little gem conveniently situated just outside the centre of Cheltenham (a 15-minute walk to the stylish Montpellier area). We loved the decor, cleanliness and general vibe of the place. Had a lovely chat with Fiona the owner whose passion for service and quality shines through. The rooms all have distinct "roomanalities" (made up word) which lends a wonderful sense of fun to the accommodation. Nice touches like the honesty bar, lounge, garden and snacks are appreciated. Personally, I like the self-check-in, it's really convenient and makes financial sense for a business that is not charging the big bucks of the corporate hotels. We stayed for the Cheltenham Literature Festival with easy proximity to all the venues.
