Wonderful small museum dedicated to the development of radar and its importance during the war years. Very well-thought out displays, videos and interactive activities. Definitely worth a visit to support it! We spent just over an hour here and was worthwhile

Brilliant small museum. Well restored and packed with well presented and interactive videos and information on the history of the site, and how it was so important during and after WW2.
The staff were very helpful throughout our family visit.

Really interesting museum and well worth a visit. It's quite small but they have packed a lot in. Several videos, voice recordings from people who were there and fascinating details about the invention of radar and the service men and women who operated it during the war. You can try your hand at tracking enemy aircraft too.
We went over on the Bawdsey Ferry which was very quick and operates largely as an on-demand service. You can signal to it for the return trip with a white paddle on the Bawdsey side! It is then about a mile or so to walk up the road and then up the driveway of the museum. We thought they should offer a discounted entry to those who had walked or cycled there!

This place is small, but beautifully formed. The entrance can be easily missed; look out for yellow signs on the left after you leave Bawdsey village. The work done here during the 30s and 40s was invaluable, so much so it would not be an exaggeration to say without it, we would have lost the war. The museum is small as museums go, but the staff are so lovely and enthusiastic. The graphics are interesting, the videos award-winning and the interactive parts are genuinely fascinating: the 'have-a-go-at-radar' is really challenging and I was determined to get it right! Children go free and you get re-entry for a year. It's walking distance from the beach and the ferry to Felixstowe.
